I wasn't really sure where to put this, so I just selected this topic.
Just wanted to drop a line and say hello to people, maybe try and get acquainted a bit since my schedule will now allow me to play 40k again. And since I intend on going to the Tuesday and Saturday game nights, hopefully a few tournaments and lock ins it seems like a good idea to get know everyone.
Anyway a little about me, I've been playing 40k for about half my life, since pretty early 3rd edition. My core army has always been Blood Angels, I fell in love with the fluff and their story right from the get-go. I was introduced to the game by Travis Nixon who owned Coyotes Den in Canandaigua. A truly wonderful man, God rest his soul.
Last year I visited Millennium a few times during the open nights to get some games in before my schedule took a turn for the worse. I doubt anyone remembers me, I had a fully magnetized army consisting of Sanguinary Guard, Assault Marines and a converted Storm Raven I kit bashed from a Valkyrie and a Whirlwind mainly. I've played around with Tau, a little with Nids, all flavors of marines. Always default back to my BA's though. Just can't give them up.
I haven't played 5th in a good while since then, not for lack of trying but a lot of my friends and fellow players started to get disillusioned with 5th edition. As well they tried branching out into other avenues such as Malifaux, which is pretty fun. (I have a small Rasputina crew) However 6th edition seems to be breathing new life into some of them, as well as hopefully the game as a whole.
So while I'm totally excited for 6th edition coming, I even ordered a collectors edition of the rulebook. (Though I fully intend to support the hobby center with further purchases, I just wanted to guarantee I would get the collectors edition. Hitting refresh on the GW website until it showed up wasn't monotonous or anything.)
But to get the heart of the matter I was wondering if anyone would be there Tuesday (today) to throw down for a last hurrah of 5th edition, and maybe work some rust out? Just have some fun and maybe get to know who I'll be playing with.
Ah and since I forgot, my name is Zack and I look forwards to meeting/playing with you all.
