Sunday September 23 at 10:30 at the Main St Armory. Warhammer 40k tournament 1500pts. This is a tournament of 3 games of Warhammer 40k using the 6th ed rules. Players will need to have a valid army using a most currant army book of no more than 1500pts. We will have prizes for the player who wins the most games, and the best painted armies though players do not need to have a painted army to play. All models should be WYSIWYG and no proxies are allowed though the models need not be Games Workshop if they correctly portray the model. Prizes will be based upon attendance.

that bland post wont help attendance, may wanna include some more pertinent information, such as entry fee, expected number of attendees etc.. not including those things may just hurt attendance than piss of those who paid to win a blister pack..

Right now I am not planning on attending. 1) The website looks like it was written by a blind dyslexic 12 year old. ( No offense to any of my challenged friends because I am sure that each and every one of you could have done a better job.) I suspect that the event will be organized just as poorly. Am I safe to assume this??? 2) I think that there is a $15 cover at the door not to mention whatever the price of the tournament is. Gimme a good reason to invest my money in this? Are we going to have any real space or are we going to be crammed into a small classroom like space as we were at SimCon? 3) Scoring and missions? Hopefully they will be straight from the main rule book but God knows what they will be. I'm not interested in playing 40K, Our Super Deluxe New Scaled Down and Improved Tournament Version. 4) The Armory, not the best of neighborhoods, just saying... 5) I scheduled a game against K-Dawg sunday and that seems like a much better use of my time.

its just the info is too vague and their isnt enough incentive for players to come play, this is why tournaments fail, someones not going to waste their time for an overpriced venue with prize support based on attendance...so if 4 people show up and everyone dropped $30..youll be dishing out a $15 blister to the winner and just have horrid reviews..where nobody will ever support your tournaments again...plan better look at how 11th co plans for their event...its advertised a f**king year ahead of time..im all about supporting the local hobby by a pisspoor lack of effort st going to help...and challenge me on whether or not i help run events or plan them because i do them for 3 stores cheers

Doug, would you mind linking the website? I wasn't able to find one on a quick google search.
I don't mind the armory, it was fine for the DaBoyz GT last year, but I'm not paying $30 for a tournament unless its a GT.

Sure not a problem! You see the event is Roc-Con not Rocon which is a local organization who specialize in fine scale modeling. Here you go, but before you click on it hit yourself in the temples several times with a ball peen hammer. That way the pain you are experiencing will help to distract from the pain you will be overcome with when you attempt to navigate this helpful and informative site. rochesterscifianimecon.com/

I remember pages like this, briefly, from when I was like 10. All it needs is animated GIF's, and some nutsty midi music in the background to complete the illusion.

The website is like the d**n Porn sites just filled with spam and recycled naked pictures of peoples ex wives. It was horrible...oh and for a successful tournament again there may need to be some effort applied in order for people to attend..

Glad to see how the community is open minded and takes the "glass is half empty" approach in discussing the merits and faults of the event.

Glad to see how the community is open minded and takes the "glass is half empty" approach in discussing the merits and faults of the event. Agreed!! How old are u guys anyway?? If u dont like it, shutup and dont attend!! Not that anyone should or does care, but this is the main reason I rarely play 40k anymore. Id rather paint than hang around adults that act like a bunch of twelve year olds. Nuff said.
