Anyone interested in attending this? Looks like we have a free ticket for both the singles and doubles event. It is the weekend of 9/22 and 9/23.

Really fun weekend. Bill took 17th out of 45 or so. I took the same army I used at millenium this month.
Game 1 was againgst a necron airforce with 4 night scythes with 5 necrons in each, 2 doom scythes, a destroyer lord, 2 units of 6 wraiths and a small farm plot of 4 scarab swarms and 2 spiders. We played the relic and I was doing pretty good till turn 3. at that point I figured I moved up past the flyers and would be ok for a turn. The necrons flew over me and then I found out that since it does not mention how the weapons work on the flyers, that they are turret weapons with 360 degree fire arc. 2 rounds of shoting later I was down to 3 tactical marines. they had my only bright spot of the game when one of the marines threw a snap shot krak grenade and blew the death ray weapon off a doom scythe.
Game 2 was againgst a chaos player with a lash prince and lash soceror. with vindicator, 3 obliterators and a heavy bolter havoc squad, also had i think 3 squads with rhinos and a chosen squad. mission was objective in each deployment zone. I couldnt get near his lash prince in a squad on his objective and he took me down to just the predator. loss
Game 3 was againgst a space wolf w?IG army. Rune priest, 4 squads in rhinos, missle long fang squad, vindicator, and leman russ. he also had a command squad in a valkyre and a plasma veteran squad that outflanked led by a wolf priest. this was objectives and late in the game he plasma the hell out of my tactical squad off an objective and got squads on a couple more, at the same time the flyer came in from the other board edge and cut through my vehicles. Loss. Bright note, We had the leftover beers from the hotel with us and I was able to pound 5 beers during the game
Game 4- I drew the ringer. I got to play john, one of the organizers and a necron force they had laying around. army was trazyn the infinite on a barge, 3 squads of 15 warriors with a mind shackle lord with them. 2 units of 10 teslamortals, doomsday ark and 2 of the walkers(which are crazy good). My deathwing got close and then the walkers shot them and gave the big warrior squads twin linked againgst my guys. did some big damage. Almost pulled it out, but another loss.
We then went to the awards, and I won the "better luck next time" award for lowest battle score. I was amazed, didnt think I did that bad, but it ended up with me with a drop pod. The award was sponsored by one of the players that has had that honor a few times they announced. In all of the confusion afterwards, I forgot to go that the guy and thank him for sposoring the award.
Overall it was a good day. not bad when you come in last and dont realize it. first game hurt pretty bad, I felt like I was a victim of a "bad touch", but after i shook it off and had some leftover hotel room beers and even came home with another drop pod and a pack of the battle field objectives dice and markers. A bunch of the guys are coming down to Daboyz this year

If I ever encounter a player using a necron airforce, I'm going to straight up concede the game before models are put on the table, and congratulate him on his ability to spend money.
Thanks for the reports though, good read!

I am a little confused on the the "360 degree" arc for the necron weapons. THere is still a fire arc for weapons and the mount of the weapon should determine it arc. Can you expound on that call?

a few answers
1) Bill came in 17th, I came in 42nd out of 45
2) I live 10 minutes from the peace bridge. it took us a little over 2 hours to get there.
3) The weapons on the necron flyers were determined to be turret weapons(i guess underslung turret weapons), thus they had a 360 degree fire arc. Looking at the codex and such its not really spelled out. I didnt make a big fuss, just stopped the game for a minute to hear it from straight from a tournament organizer because it seemed almost unbelievable, then accepted it.
