Just finished up game 1 against a beasts of chaos army. I scored... 0pts!!! Crushing defeat for nurgle. In our two team games last night, Chris P and myself lost both games. One of the losses came at the hands of Team Beef & Wings.
Tons of beautiful armies and conversions. Taking loads of images and will post next week. More updates to come.

Looking forward to the updates. If you play your cards right, it looks like you might be in contention for smoking boots!

Ha, erich... i need something to shoot for. Game 2 was a much better game with only a minor loss and i netted 3 battlepoint. It help that my opponent was ripped on jack daniels. Game three was another defeat but at least I covered my objectives getting another 4 battlepoints. I'm sitting at 7 total points right now at the end of the day. Not sure how Team Beef and Wing faired in their last two games.

Yup, my win-less record in fantasy extends to doubles, as I pull down Kevin. In our first game, we lost 2700 to 300. Followed by a 2700 to 600 loss. That said, on our current trajectory, we should be able to tie things up around game 7.
In terms of the main GT, things are going pretty smoothly. We finished paint judging by the end of round 2, and our matchup software has made everything pretty easy.
Gotta to and get round 4.

Well, the GT is over and done and the Rochester/Beef & Wing crew took some notable achievements home. You can get the full results here: www.crossroads-gt.com/We have Brian Moyer in a tie for 5th overall. Craig Bigham in 12 overall (only 10 points away from 1st) Evan Yount was in the top 10 for painting. Kevin Gricius tied for 2nd best sportsman. Good job guys.

It was fun, well run event and there were lots of beautifully painted and converted armies. All games were pretty much finished before the end of the timer and pairings/table drawings were up and posted quickly with no issues of dual pairings or people playing on the same tables the entire weekend. After the games were done on Saturday, there was open gaming and I got to play Mordheim for the first time. Thanks to Bill for taking the time to explain the game to me. I'm already thinking of ways to convert my extra beastmen bits into a gang.
Some of the display boards were so big and well done that you could have played a small game on them. I think the top conversion I saw was the body of the arachnok spider merged with the top half of the tyranid lord model and run as daemon.
Evan's wood elves were also one of my favorites for painting. He had it painted up in a Zelda/link color scheme and even had them modeled onto one of his glade riders. I'll be posting some of the pictures I took to this thread when I get home tonight.
I was bummed that I was not able to finish up my painting before the event so my 2 warrior blocks were only half done but I still got a lot of compliments on the paint scheme.
I faced the following armies: 1. Beastmen 2. Dark Elves 3. Daemons (Khorne theme) 4. Warriors of Chaos 5. Orcs and Goblins
In hindsight I think I would have had a little more fun if I had run my orc and goblin list as I had very little mobility in my warriors list and 4 out of 5 of my matches were able to exploit that. Still a fun event and one I will most likely try to attend again next year.

Here are some of the picture I took of the event. My army on battleboard My warshrine in action Wood Elves Wood Elves Vampire Counts Ogres made up to look like dwarf slayers. I think this guy won best painting or theme. Skaven army in underground display Pumpkin Orcs Pirate Ogres Khorne Daemons - I face this guy in round 3. Dwarf Army Dark Elves Close up of Dark Elf Sorceress on Dragon. Much better looking in person Hydra I faced in round 2 Tomb Kings Daemon Conversion This was probably the best looking kitbash/conversion I saw that weekend. Again, my camera does not do this any justice. Evan's (Beef and Wing) Zelda themed Wood Elves Zelda and Link on horseback. This was the best shot out of all the ones I took. The rest were fuzzy or out of focus. She was also in Evan's army. Pretty nice paint job! I had more shots that just did not turn out right. Hopefully Chris will be able to add some other images to this post. And for Nogle and Bill..... 'nuff said

After this weekend and the monday I took off, I'm still so tired I can barely lurk. It was a fun weekend though.
I'll try to get some pictures up. I have the top 5 painted armies, though I may have missed out on that player's choice Slayer-Ogres. I'm glad you got a pic Kevin.

I also think that the picture of Craig is a bit off due to perspectives. That Margarita was as big as his head.
