I think it was leaked all of 10 minutes on facebook before it got pulled. Did you get a chance to see some of the new goodies?
Here's a couple of things I picked up:
1-Are all the new codicies going to have packed elite slots? And by all, I mean Chaos & Nids.
2-Bikes are 20points base. I knew that there was a reason why I have 20 of the stupid things.
3-Not really about the codex, but I don't like the look of the new raptors. I like the old ones.
4-Am I reading this correctly, you can buy marks for each model in a basic CSM squad, and in addition, buy a icon. So, you get a mark of nurgle plus an icon that's Khorny?
5-What's the deal with Strength 8 everywhere? The Hades cannons, the ecotoplasm cannons. Makes my Nid warriors cry.
6-I like how almost every unit can take a mark, even stuff like Oblits. Cool, and expensive.
So yeah, what's cool?

Just a comment about the new models... I am not impressed at all.
Not a big fan of the dinosaur look at all. If the scale is close, I might try converting up a couple of soulgrinders to count as the fiends.
The hellbrute rocks imho... prollygonna use a couple of those. The warp talons are alright, might actually buy those.

I'm not a fan of the dinobots either.
I don't have my rulebook on me, does blind make you ws&bs 1? (thinking of the warp talons)

Yeah, looks like the army will be the most customizable army out there now with the ability of taking bare bones cultists and marines all the way up to hateful suped up champions of the chaos gods bristling in wargear, marks, icons, and boons.
It will be a great opportunity for themed armies and dynamics we haven't seen before.
The new walker and flyer models may not be for everyone, but the conversion opportunities will be huge as well as using some of the forgeworld walker models as "counts-as". The important thing IMO is that the codex is so drastically different from their loyalist counterparts now. They didn't add razorbacks, drop pods, land raider variants, hammernators, or other crap that CSM players have wanted in comparison. They added units that still create excitement but fall in line with everything the empire of mankind is against. The heretic and the mutant.
Anyways, I hope to pick up a codex Saturday. This release will be irresistible to me since chaos was also my first army back in 2nd ed when you could use marines and daemons without needing allies. My wallet may not be ready, but it will give me time to come up with a killer theme and scheme and really take my time with it.

Oh yeah... The XVII legion is gearing up for some major butt-kickin (probably mine) but I am so excited for the new book. I'm holding off on judging the 'dinobots' until I see them in person as we know that the way the 'eavy metal team paints always does not translate well in print. The Word Bearers fluff has them using daemon engines and cultist meatshields so I am happy that I can now use them in my lists. The Heldrake looks awesome but i think that may have to wait a month or so before i can commit price-wise. Looks like my havocs will be my primary source for AA in the next few months.
Looking forward to reading and discussing it on Saturday with those of you showing up for the grudge match.

the whole dinobot look is kinda cheesy but hell with the way the game has been going im glad theres some new hotness..i do like the new raptors, but the whole warped by chaos look doesnt necessarily fit the night lord theme considering they hate chaos, although i can see mutations happening simply because of the whole being CSM and all.. The warp talons do look pretty silly though imo...and in terms of the forge fiends theyre not so bad...just a transformers rip off...although there are enough models to convert to make them what you want. The oblits are the same terrible models which is unfortunate.and the helldrake looks pretty sweet although i may add something to the back end because its completely lacking like a tail or something

One thing that I thought was surprising was the price decrease of oblits. They're a $50 box now instead of $25 each (were they more at the end?)

They are obviously cheaper with the switch to finecast. Just like GW said everything else would be?
