I'm still working everything out with Travis and should have the final details coming out shortly (Friday)
Quick Run down,
$20-$25, 7 weeks (Dec 1o might be the start date, might get pushed back see below) Revamped loot system. Will have bonus for painting and playing different people ***AND NEW PEOPLE*** Can start late First week or two will be low points, after that it opens up Wins against Courtney count more (Unless the Baby Interferes then we'll have a different "Celeb" Player) And yes a discount on GW stuff. Out of towners (Looking at you Buffalo and Eire, And Erich if you've made friends in 'Cuse) will be able to participate
If this goes well as I'm hoping, and I think it will since its tweaked alot, Aaron threw out the idea for a map based campaign and I'm thinking mid spring we might want to get that going.
What i want to know if if the 13 for a start would work OR the other date im looking at is Jan 3)
Lemme Know
-Ben

Are there specific nights that we have to get the games in at the store or can you play at anytime and record the results? Reason i ask is that Tuesday night totally suck for me to get out. Actually, most weeknights suck so having flexibility to schedule games would be nice.

Thanks for including me in this Ben - I would like to participate as much as I can. I will be in Rochester 'alot' with the holidays and the new year so I can probably try to pull in a few games.
Looking forward to the details - I would be glad to support Millenium as I expand my collection through this!

Millennium Games Winter Play League.
So this year we’re going to be doing things a little bit differently, first off, I want to thank everyone who made last year’s league so successful. I’m taking a couple of the ideas people had, plus a couple of my own and hopefully turning this winter league into a better one than last years.
So a quick overview, we’re going to run this year’s league for 7 weeks, last year’s we had a tier system, this years is broken down into two parts, weeks 1 and 2 are going to be simple low end games, weeks 3 and up are whatever you want. You don’t have to stick to one army and paint doesn’t hurt you
Instead of points this year we’re going to be doing a ticket system for raffling off the prizes, last year whomever had the most point just dominated the auction towards the end, and a few people were opposed to doing a completely blind system. So how do you gain these tickets? Well a few different ways, first playing games, secondly introducing new people to the games. Now there is a hard cap on the amount of tickets you can win, so we don’t have someone just running away with a billion tickets and then having people drop/stop playing.
Weeks 1 and 2, These games are going to be played at 1000 points or less, no flyers, no allies, and no fortifications try not to be a thingy. Regardless of win loss or draw you are going to get 2 tickets for playing these games up to a total of 8 tickets (8).
After week 2 ends the restrictions are off. Weeks 3-7 are at any point level you would wanr. A win nets you 2 tickets, a draw 1 and a loss* is 1. Just like in weeks 1 and 2 there is a ticket cap which is 16. Also, during this time you can also make up the games from weeks 1 and 2, play as many as you like but you can never get more than 8. Since you don’t get your tickets till the auction till day of, I’m going to take your best score’s. i.e. you play 20 games and win 9 of them, you’ll get 8 wins worth of tickets.
The * next to the loss is for a handicap. Starting with your third loss in a row your losses and draws start netting you 2 tickets instead 1. (Example I’ve lost 4 straight so my tickets would be 1,1,2,2 = 6)
Since the games are set up this way where you can go back and play you can join up any time. I would advise that it be before week 5, but that’s your call.
Extra tickets, Beat Courtney (and/or whom every the celeb player is) 1, Up to a max of 3 Play more than 2 fully painted army’s (allies don’t count towards this) 1, Up to a max of 2 Play more than 3 different people. 1, up to a max of 3 (Meaning you played at least 6 people) Introduce a new play to the game and or run a “demo” between two new people 2, up to a max of 4.
So for review Weeks 1,2 a max of 8 Weeks 3+ a max of 16 Bonus a possible of 12
So the most someone can go into raffle is 36. Now the way the raffle is going to work is that the player with the best w/l ratio is going to place first. The prizes are going to be divided up into 3 or 4 pools, then they place their ticket in that pool, you can only win once out of each pool, and only for a total of 3 times. You’ll then come up and claim anything out of that pool.
Cost, I went back and forth on this and decide on $25 again. This just makes for a real fun raffle where everyone gets a bunch of prizes.
For the out of Towner’s that are interested in play you have the following changes to your bonus tickets If you play in one of the 40k tournaments, that will net you the full bonus tickets for playing different people. If you bring someone new to one of the tournaments EVERYONE from that region will get 3 tickets per person, per event up to a max of 9. The only thing I ask in return is some pic of your games, because I want to put this up on Dakka and Aarons blog.
The raffle will be after February’s event. Now aside from major life’s issue you’ll need to be there to collect your tickets in order to be placed in the pools for drawings. NO your friend cannot have your tickets if you’re a no show.
Now last year’s people had a hard time getting to the store all the time, so you’re allowed two floating games.
Also if you sign up Travis is hooking us up with a onetime use 20% coupon off most GW products. And the new people you demo to get 10% off.
Any questions?

Would there be any chance we could tie this in with RWAG? We always have people playing there and Millennium just made an agreement with them for vendor stuff anyway. In case you don't know RWAG is RIT's gaming club they meet Tuesdays from 7-11 and we've got a good 6-10 warhammer players depending on the week.

You can choose to play your games while at RWAG meetings. If you choose to do so please turn in your results to me while at the meeting. I run the Millennium that is there each week. I will relay them back to Ben each week. Also if you need anything brought to RWAG that you would like to pick up, just call the store and place a customer order, and tell us to send it to RWAG for pickup. I will bring it with me and you can buy it at the meeting

a draw is always 1 but a loss can be 2 tickets? just pointing that out i dont think it matters in the long run. Just odd that I would rather lose all my games than draw all my games
also, start date of the 13th is a Thursday? Let me know the official start date I need to get these posted

Couple of quick questions.
1. Is December 13th the official start date? 2. Is there a signup sheet at the store now? 3. Maybe I missed it in your wall of text but is there a set number of games that must be played each week? 1, 2, 3, etc...? 4. Depending on the number of games, I'm assuming that the first games you play for each week count towards the results? We did this in the past to prevent someone from playing 6 games and only scoring their wins. 5. Is there going to be a scoring sheet at the store like in previous years or do we just communicate all results to you?

Signups are open. Spreadsheet for entry, coupon use, and results are on the computer at the front register under "40k Winter League"
Also - anyone want to come in and teach Patrick how to play 6th ed? He bought his rulebook and entry into the league today and is coming in tomorrow to get in some practice

so obviously we get points for beating the best guard player in rochester?
anyway, this saturday were trying to get people together at millennium to kick this thing off. anyone interested just chime in, we will probably be showing up around noonish, and given it should be 1000 points are less, should be able to kick out a few games each. we already have a few people committed, so let us know if yer coming as well!

I'm going to have to sit this one out as well as the first 3 tournaments of '13. Wife's still recovering and the xmas/v-day/easter lineup is crazy this year with easter falling in March.
I'll throw out some challenges for weeknights when things normalize a bit, but I won't be able to make it to the shop much until April.
