or How Kevin lost his virginity, Apocalypse Style!
That's right, I was fortunate enough to play in my very first apocalypse game this past week. Rob and I (Team Eldar) faced off against Zack, Andy, and Stu (Team Chaos) with each side playing roughly 12k points.
My forces
Rob's forces
Andy's and some of Stu's forces
My picture of Zack's forces did not turn out that well but I think most of you are familiar with what Zack runs.
Since it was my first game, I was unsure of how things worked and in the first round of shooting I saw Zack remove a whole wraithlord formation with one shot from an laser defense platform. Rob assured me that it is normal to lose lots of units from one round of shooting, a lesson that Andy reenforced really well as he performed bombing runs on my guardian squads and just wiped them out.
Deployment started around 10am and the first dice thrown was near 11am. We played up until around 7pm with no breaks.
We called it after turn 5 or 6 with Chaos ahead with 35pts to our 27pts. They had the advantage of capturing and controlling objectives early on and were able to rack up the points quickly. Towards the end the chaos army was slowly getting whittle down but it was too little too late.
I enjoyed the game immensely and I would like to thank Rob, Andy, Zack, and Stu for having me over and introducing me to apocalypse.
Below are some of the pics I took during the game.
Deployment from our side of the board:
Team Chaos deployment
Eldar flier making short work of the laser platform
Andy's stupid bomber that kept wiping stuff out
Near end of game shot
