Never assume anything.
Again I would like to know the criteria that was used to score painting.
Also I would like official confirmation on scoring in next months event.
Painting?
Comp?
Just battle points?

Just battle points? There is no mention of painting or comp in the description so there isn't any in April just Battle. As far as painting goes its purely my opinion or who ever is there to judge the event. Did I get a good look at everyone's army this past weekend? No, because I had to play ringer. So is there criteria for it nope, is everyone going crucify me over this probably, do I care not really. (honestly I'm ready to quit running events) Painting is a purely a biest judgement, but since last year there was tons of pleas to add painting in so I did. Will I be giving a paint award every month probably not I've been giving sportsmanship. I gave painting award last month because Adepticon's sportsmanship cause a ton of tied scores. Attendance also plays a big factor on what prizes I can give out.

Thanks for the honest response - I appreciate it is a significant amount of time and effort to run an event.
Given your experience as a judge for Da Boyz with respect to painting over the last few years, I am sure the criteria you applied was what we could fairly call an 'expert opinion,' which is really the only tractable way to evaluate such a diverse group.
Besides, even if there was some inconsistency with a point in one direction or another, I am sure no one would be such a jerk to throw a fit over the distribution of a few negligible points. Especially if their finish was out of the money by a wide margin - maybe taking a major loss when the others had comaprably painted armies.
That is especially true when someone else is taking their time to organize, coordinate and keep running smoothly the overall event while trying to address the concerns, needs and desires of those paricipants..
If there is any way I can help out with the next one, I would be more than glad to assist on it.

Please don't misunderstand me or try to put words in my mouth.
The point of my post was for clarity, not to "be a jerk". As long as there are awards being given out arbitrarily for painting I believe it is a fair to let all the players involved in these events understand what they are being judged on so that they might have some sort of direction to improve their score in the future.
We all know who won the event and they did it with the best Daemon list around. There was no question in my mind on that. A point or two either way wouldn't have changed their crushing victory by any means.
The event was run smoothly in my opinion as well. If there is anything I can do to help in the future I will as well.

Basically if your partner had a painted army you would have scored better. Terry's army was very well painted but once again his partners painting was't at the same level. Konrad's guard is pretty well painted too but Garret's blood angels were ok. Aaron's army was painted VERY well and Andy's painting is average, so they took it home. Doug you troops looked great, your vehicles needed a little work to get to the level of your troops. But as I told your partner jokingly why do you have drag your partner's painting score down (Mostly primed white army). There were probably 4-5 armies that one half was painted well and the other half was not so good. I probably could have given a better look at the painting if I wasn't playing.
I don't want this to discourage new player or vets with new armies from playing in our event just because its not fully painted.
