Inquisitor Lord Baltasar de Mendoza surveyed the troops he requisitioned in preparation for the upcoming battle. They were all elite guardsmen, and he seemed confident of his upcoming victory.
Nearby, Commander Hernán Cortés scoffed. 6 squads of his best soldiers were preparing for this dolt of an Inquisitor Lord's grand battle plan. The strategy was little more than: "get em" Although his troops were loyal, and he knew they would fight well, the Inquisitor's poorly thought out battle plan seemed unlikely to succeed.
The days following the dissappearence of the Iron Dragons brought with them much dissarray. Mendoza had used this disarray to leap through the ranks of the Inquisition. Now, a rare piece of archeotech has been located nearby, and Mendoza intends to verify that it has not been tainted by the foul chaos gods.
The Valkyrie's launch from the Grand Cruiser Coronado, on which the Imperial guard army is being transported. Cortés looks doubtful that he will ever see his soldiers again. 18 hours after the mission launched, a strike cruiser bearing the markings of the Inquisition emerges out of warp, and issues a message to the Cruiser Coronado: "Do not interfere, this is an Inquisitorial censuring." almost 24 hours after Inquisitor Baltasar's mission launched, thunderhawks, undoubtfully carrying Sisters of Battle emerged from the Strike Cruiser and descended upon the planet.
Rumors emerged that snakelike servants of Slannesh were seen on the planet. However the Inquisitor leading the Sisters heard about them and all guardsmen involved had their minds wiped. Cortés only managed to hide a few of his officers from the brutal mind wipes of the Inquisition.
Now, there's a handfull of squads of Inquisitorial Stormtroopers of the Ordo Malleus stationed on the Coronado... On the journey back to port, a message was recieved that the Archeotech has been located in a new system, and the Inquisitorial Stormtroopers are to assist in the recovery of the artefact in any way possible.......
