My armies fluff first draft.
It is better to die in vain than live in abomination...
Under the rule of the Holy God Emperor of Mankind, humanity has taken control of the stars. His blessed domains stretch the universe over, spanning countless millions of worlds. The Beneficient Master of mankind has wrought his kingdom across the stars, and for all time shall it stand a testimony to His glory and power.
The Emperor forged this mighty kingdom, and now, it falls to the inhabitants of it to keep it going, with their toil, their sweat, and there very lives, quite often. The enemies of mankind are legion, and it is they who threaten to disturb the rule of the glorious god-emperor. Chief among these threats, is the daemonic menace presented by Chaos. While the emperor's power is undeniable, it would be foolish indeed to assume the opposite about His enemies. As His Holy will protects us from them, so must We protect his holy domains. It was for this reason, that the Blessed Inquisition was formed. Chief amongst these orders, whose decrees and orders echo the will of the beloved god emperor, is the ordo malleus. Charged with the destruction of the Daemon in all his lying guises, they seek and destroy all of their hated kind, scourging their foul presense from the blessed realm of mankind. The Malleus, however, is but one organization amonst the cosmos, and its resouces, while vastly powerful, cannot contain this threat by itself. While the Soldiers of the Grey Knights, the mighty warriors of the Malleus, the sword of the emperor, are a force to be rekoned with, they are not enough.
The war on the daemonic encompases all humans, and so the Grey Knights have frequently taken command of legions of the emperors soldiers, as they continue their crusade on the Daemon. Amongst these innumerable allies provided to the grey knights by the will of the God-Emperor, is the Cadian 245th Rapid Response Tactical Squad, comprised of several divisions of stormtroopers. First into the fight, their fighting prowess is unmatched by any other in the Imperial Guard. When the tide of chaos filth came to Cadia in the form of vile Abbadons 13th black crusade, it was they who bled to hold the gate. It was they that stemmed the tide of the carnage. The witnessed countless horrors in that war, and made it through with faith in the God-Emperor. And that Faith has not been overlooked by Him.
In their darkest hour, as a vile warp spawned army of heretics besiged them, Colonel Samson of the 245th stood atop his chimera, laspistol barking in defiance at the horde of daemons that would surely consume them all. Prepared to die with a prayer on his lips and faith in his heart, he lept from the transport, revving his chainsword as he and his command team raced to the front line, at the head of his kasrkin force. Death in service of the emperor was its own reward, and one that Samson was prepared to take, as was every man in his force. the heavy leman russ tanks in his regiment rained firey death upon the heretics, but they were without number. The Colonel watched as his men were butchered, screaming litanies of faith in defiance as he hacked at the horde with his chainsword. Suddenly, the air became charged, as though by an electrical field. Blood pounding in his veins, Samson fought on, heedless of what this omen surely meant. blind with holy rage, fought on, missing somehow the appearance of a new, beneficient force. Only when all the foes were slain, did he see the hand by which they were delivered. Standing, resplendant in their Terminator Armor, were the brothers of the Grey Knights. The battle was won, and the ground was slick with the blood of the Daemon.
The Grey Knight Grandmaster Loken, unaccustomed to seeing such bravery in the warriors of the Guard, regretted what must surely come next. That the malleus had to purge the guardsmen who had seen the daemonic forces of chaos was a necissary evil, however. He turned to the valliant colonel, and aimed his storm bolter at him. "Abulo ab sanctus ignis," he whispered, as he prepaired to fire. As his finger tensed on the trigger, he heard his vox-link chirp. The voice of inquisitor Thaddeus, with whom he closely worked, stayed his hand. Instead, widthdrew his stormbolter, extended his hand, helped the colonel to his feet, and repeated the phrase which he had heard so many inquisitors utter before.
"By the holy orders of the god-emperor of mankind, this force is now under the command of His most blessed Inquisition."
