OK, time for all the hardcore vets and fluff mongers to stand up and be accounted for. The question at hand is...
Who are the Legion of the d**ned, are there current rules governing them, and if so, where is GW hiding them???
The reason I ask is while placing a bits order I ran into some cool LOD models, but I have never seen them or even heard anyone talk about them. Why do they exist if there is no way to play them. Answers???

Legion of The Damed. Formely called the Fire Hawks, lost in the warp around M963.41 Homeworld: Zhoros (later which was Thermal Bombed) Legion said to be cursed. Fotress Rapturous Rex lost in the Warp.
Rumors report these warriors undead and appear from no where. They are in a white dwarf for specific rules.
Some say they were founded from the Ultramarines.
Try white dwarf 99 page 39.

The legion of the d@mned had actually 3 diffrent sets of rules.
Long ago there was a set of rules to use them as an elite squad in a space marine army. they were a decent unit but could not get a power weapon. they did have initive 5 however.
later they made a Legion of the D@mned army list The only entries were Force commander, command squad, tactical squad and Dreadnought This was ok but were basically fearless deep striking marines with +1A for 10 mor points a guy.
Lastly there was the Index Astartes cursed founding list last seen in Chapter approved 3 and last i knew still downloadable from the UK website.
sadly as with all other chapter approves new space marine book cleared all these old rules out. Now the oficial rules for legion of the d**ned are called "Chapter Traits"
Got copies of all the old stuff somewhere if interested.

Thanks for the answers,
I did look on my own and LOD was first mentioned in WD99. Later ruleswere written that appear in WD228 for one unit that could appear much the same way that deathwatch does. I was wondering if used this way is that rule still valid.
LOD also appeared in WS236 and WD251, I think as an army list in both cases. I could see how these rules would be replaced with the current traits if fielding an entire force.
Again thanks for the info.
