Well I didn't want to start a new topic and mentioning my buddy seemed best done here, as he *does* need help with tactics (he has a bad habit of placing his heavy weapon squads w/ LOS to where the enemy is least likely to advance)
4th edition honestly doesn't leave a whole bunch of room for "tactics." Armies with access to vehicles that block LOS and can move forward and survive or affordably expire (rhinos) have a large tactical advantage in that they can protect advancing vulnerable troops.
Other than that you're pretty much either "standing and shooting" or "moving forward hoping to live."
Anything else (target saturation) kind of falls into the area of psychological warfare so I don't know if it's a "tactic" persay.
Other than what's been mentioned I can't really think of anything I've employed that's worth mentioning, and I haven't really seen anyone else be really creative either. There isn't much room for depth in 4th edition.
