I just wanted to clarify whether or not Artillery units can move and fire in the same turn. I am referencing "artillery" rules on page 56 of the BBB, and "vehicle" rules on page 63.
P. 56 says that artillery guns "count as vehicles." Page 63 says that "any vehicle that is neither fast or a walker" can fire one main weapon when it moves up to 6".
According to p. 56 an artillery unit's shot scatters 1d6 if there is a line of sight to the target, and 2d6 if no LOS exists.
So according to these rules an artillery unit can move up to 6" and still fire its guns, and if LOS exists to the target they only scatter 1d6" on the move? Otherwise 2d6 of course.
Did I leave anything out? Is this correct? Support or refute...

You missed the part where guess weapons can not move and shoot.
You can move and direct shoot if that is an option (bassy and defiler) but you cannot move and shoot a whirlwind (no direct fire option)
I don't have the page on hand, but it should be with the barrage weapons.

Well P. 56 doesn't say anything specifically about procedures for moving and firing artillery units, other than mentioning how LOS is established from a crewman/gun.
The vehicle rules make an exception for Ordnance Barrage weapons (they can't move and shoot--perhaps this is what you are thinking of?). But regular barrages (i.e. the kind that come from artillery) aren't mentioned, and thus fall into the typical weapon categories.
Am I missing something still?

Ordanace barrages may not be fired from moving vehicles. It says nothing about smaller barrages.

Remember that ordnance doesn't refer to the size of the template, but the type of weapon. There are some ordnance barrage weapons that have smaller templates. One of those eldar cannons I think.

Actually the D-Cannon uses the Ordnance Penetrating Hit table for vehicle damage, but it is not an "ordnance" class weapon. The profile says "heavy 1" (I don't have my codex on me but I'm 90% sure of this). Anyways I used a single D-cannon on saturday against one of the guys here in syracuse. I got romped by his all-mech Tau with the Seeker Missile system on all his devilfish. That's a tough army to beat! Anyways, using the D-cannon was a lot of fun until seeker missiles killed the crew really fast BTW those guys in Syracuse are bringing out the most powerful lists they can. Two of the guys at the GW store had three falcons in their eldar armies! (Eldar are really popular here, btw) I was caught off guard to say the least!

Yea 3 Falcons is just dumb. But whatever. Just keeping painting and having fun. Hopefully some of the guys out there don't have cheesemaster armies.

Sanguinary--remind me who are you in *real life* again?
Yea, three falcons *was* pretty dumb. I mean, I usually use 1 and if I'm being competitive 2 but three is rediculous--I had never seen it used before and now I see where all the complaints about Falcons are coming from.
Apparently (according to the store owner of GW here in Syr) the Falcon is getting nerfed in the next codex, which is good IMO because the fire prism should have the role that the Falcon currently fulfills. I'm not sure how they're going to nerf falcons but I hope they don't make them useless either!
I also heard guardians are going to be "da shizzit" with the new codex. Also not what I was hoping for--I wanted more focus on aspects but who knows maybe we'll get both. I'm pretty excited about it!
But yea, about the three falcons--I though three Tau hammerheads were bad but three falcons is worse...

He keeps showing up unexpectedly for a random amount of time. Untill he decides to go away there's nothing to be done to get rid of him.
