As I have stated, Pariahs are good but IMO never capable of making up their points. Too slow, no way to get them across the board, etc. They are only affective as counter assualt. they have their use I guess but not one of your better choices in Necrons, now Scarabs on the other hand.....

Your playing the wrong game then Brian, because if you rely on you opponent to make mistakes and fall into you OBVIOUS traps you will never make a good tacticion
You need to use your pariahs in an active role. Dont be passive with them and wait till they come into range...be proactive and march them over to where there will be combat, behind terrain to counter assualt even being near an assualt where you can use thier special ability is good enough.
You dont need to make up points with units, you need to use them in combination with your army as a whole....if your rely on unit to unit basis, You will find your necrons on the short end of the stick. They are not like chaos where your units can stand up unit to unit, they work together like an ant nest.

I like Ron's reply. Not to branch this topic out, but there are other units in other armies same problems ie:Avatar. I think Ron answered the guestion for all those type of units though.

I have 6 Pariahs and that is one of the only ways to play them. Thats why I dont use them. I was thinking walking them behind spiders could be affective.

Huh? plopping down 6 pariahs isnt "using" them...its taking 6 pariahs.
that is ONE of the ONLY ways to play them? This sentence doesnt make anysense. you need to rephrase it to: 1.) That is the ONLY way to play them OR 2.) That is ONE of the ways I play them OR 3.) That is THE ONE way I play them
So far we havent heard anthing about them being played, only that you take 6.

Say what you mean then. I cant assume everything for you. And I still dont see you point. No its not diffrent, we are talking about units that have to WALK across the table. Last time I checked Pariahs have a better: BS, I, S, Weapon, Range, LD, Armor Save, A Diffrent Sepcial rule....so now that we got that out of the way back to the topic of How people dont like to walk things across the table because..... Its bad? No, Are you?

First, No one said pariah will win you the game.
Second if you dont have the skills to use all your units in your codex dont b!tch about it.
-I used to think raptors were too expensive, never got its points back blah blah blah...then one day I used them out of boredom. They did terrifc IN CONJUNCTION with other units. They are a hit or miss unit, more often than not if used in conjuntion with another unit they will hit.
Im not forcing you to take Pariahs, Im suggestion to you instead of taking the typical Necron army, try something diffrent for a change, like Pariahs. The unit is not half bad, hell I will take if I could.
Its not like its hard to hide a 6 man squad of them, they can be used well and get a counter assualt off or even an assualt if used wisely.

Seriously, reality check here- game wise: Any unit can be made good when you take the time to figure it out. It has a niche some where, just gotta find it. I cant play the game for you or make you play something you dont want to. Take it as it is....
