As many of you may remember, back in 3rd edition I was public enemy #1 for awhile in the GT circuit for adding aspiring champions to my plague zombie units and treating the whole unit as fearless. At the time, a rather obscure FAQ (of which I was unaware) had been recently printed on a "chat board" by one of the GW higher-ups indicating that in this case, the plague zombies lose their fearlessness.
My question is now (in 4th ed) is since there is no FAQ to continue this train of thought, would the plaque zombie unit (with aspiring champion) remain fearless?

I just read this rule the other night. I think it is in the description for fearless.
ANy character that joins a fearless unit becomes fearless. Any fearless character that joins a non-fearless unit loses his fearlessness.
Either that or it is in the character section.

Any fearless character that joins a non-fearless unit loses his fearlessness.. I think you are wrong or we have all been playing it wrong for a long time. Space Marine Chaplains are fearless, and when they join a unit the whole unit becomes fearless. As for the original question, I am not sure, but it does not make sence for a fearless character to lose that ability when he joins a squad.

YOu brought this up yesterday Shuan and I have to agree with you that the champions would become fearless when they join the unit. (This would seem to make sense and a more viable option!) It says in the rule book, i dont think you should look any further.
As for the Chaplain, doesnt he have a "special" rule that says he condones his fearlessness to the squad?

Yes. Chaplains have a special rule. I can't remember what it is called.
*edit* I just looked up the name. "Honour of the Chapter"
I just looked up the fearless thing. The rule is under the description of fearless. Pg74. BGB
