An opponent wanted to DS his spores direction in to my guys. I know that they can DRIFT on to enemy units and instead of going puff like most deep striking units they instead explode. But the initial placement of any deep striking unit has to be at lest one inch away from any of my guys right?
It would work the same way as a monolith. You can not aim for the center of my lines, but if you drift in to them I have to get out of your way. To bring the monolith in via DS you have to place it on the table (this has to be a legit location…1” away from my stuff…) and then roll for drift.
How are you guys resolving this since Adepticon will allow imperial armor ?

Nah, DSing the spores is more like a guess weapon, it says to put down the models only "IF" you don't blow up by coming into contact. We've always played with putting them right onto models, so if you get a hit, it hits it.

I think he talking about deep striking spores.
There is large debate on Adeption boards on this one. Since the rule states that you can set them any where on the table, they have to placed on the table, not above a unit (to explode above).
I would think you could place them within one inch of a model.
It could be interesting because i belive alot of armies are bringing Metiotic Spores to adeption.

there are 3 main points on these things
1. place ontop of a unit
2. always count as hitting rear armor
3. always get 5 plus 2d6 even verse monaliths.
I believe 1 and 2 will stand, since it is just another version of living arti and they are basing 2 on using the castilian mine as an example. 3 they should not be able to effect the monalith, see chris I dont always pick on you lol
