hey guys it's me at UAlbany! i am still workign on my Deathwing and had a question for Daboyz. Are the Deathwing assault terminators worth their salt in a full terminator infanty force? shoudl they be in the drop pod or a land raider? footslogging? or a mix i was thinking of taking 2 squads assault termies and 4 squads regular. i am gunna post pics soon of what i have so far. also to go along with the army shoudl i take a librarian in terminator armour or a chaplain in termie armour?

In my opinion...
Assault terminators are a very nice addition to a full force. Both options (Twin LC / TH & SS) add some very needed punch to your basic powerfist boyz. If you have the means, I would suggest land raider or footslogging. Having your boys teleport/drop pod in and be stuck for a turn while the enemy blasts you is a bad situation. 2+/5+ be d**ned, the armor can only protect you so much.
As far as the Librarian/Chaplain goes it's pretty up in the air. Both are DA fluff approved, it's more a question of points than anything else. I would say since the squads are smaller now, take the librarian. A chaplain's abilities become more potent with a larger squad to confer them on, where a librarian is a powerhouse no matter what.

i am still confused a little too, it says that i can interchange weapons in the squad, does that mean i can have a LC assault termie with the cyclone missle launcher? is this worth the investment?

Yeah, the only real restriction on deathwing squads is which ranged weapons they take (and have to pay for). You could conceivably have almost one of everything in a single squad.
Effectiveness is up in the air at the moment. I don't think there's been enough games played with either combination to give a solid yea or nay.
Since having all terminators means no having to stand still for shooting, anyone can blast and rush in for a follow up. I can see having a pair of LC in a shooty squad doing some real good.
The one config I think that really needs to stand on it's own (or at least in the majority) is the Thunder Hammer / Storm Sheild boyz. If you want to rock the 4+ Invul to any real effect, you're going to want numbers on your side.
I'd be interested to hear any results you find gaming with the new deathwing (and Ron too).

Played Deathwhing in that big game. I lost 6 terminators. but it was a wierd mission too. To give any real feedback I would need to play a one on one. I can tell you that its very mobile, albiet a little slow. I like it, shoot, move, shoot, move, assualt is pretty much the way it goes. Again too early to tell right now as far as a solid reflection on the army. But i did have fun with 26 termies and a dready!
