Hey Boldo, quick question on comp:
Do Empire Detachments count towards the comp point about - Less than 3 units smaller than 1.5x minimum size not counting units without option for more models?
Thanks,
Kevin out

Detachments aren't separate units?
I'm not sure how that works, but glad I'm not bringing any detachments then.

You wouldn't give up any points for loosing 2, 5 man detachments if the parent unit still has 11 models because all three make one big unit and it's not below half. Either I am misunderstanding this situation or someone else making a mistake. I suppose you could argue... 1. That detachments of a parent unit with10 models can't have more than 5 models. Therefore the detachment meets the "Can't add more models" requirement. 2. But you could counter argue that you could get 8 models (now meeting the 1.5x's min unit size) by bumping the parent units size to 16 and meet that requirement for both units. Now for my 2 cents... To me it seems that 2 is the option that would meet the (dare I say it) spirit of that particular comp rule.

Wow people take something and run with it. I never said for all rules detachments are not seperate units. The rules about them cover seperately. Neither did I say they add to the units size for minimal size. But for comp purposes they neither count as minimial size or as a unit of 2 times size. Please stop reading more into answers.

Boldo My apologies. I was just trying to understand when a unit is and isn't a unit. So units that rely on a "parent unit" or similar eligiblity rule don't count towards comp? or just certain aspects of comp? Or is this just something for Empire? This is important to me as I am playing ogres and ogres have similar rules about not being able to take unit B without unit A.
