My vote is to leave Forgeworld out. It doesn't come down to whether or not I can afford it, ( I can), it comes down to the fact that even if I wanted to buy a new Forgeworld piece to play I couldn't because there is not nearly enough time to order it, have it shipped, and paint it. As for the whole Adepticon prep argument, again I could care less since I am not interested in that tournament. If you want to prepare for it feel free but leave your preparation out of the local tournament scene. I was counting on playing in the team tournament and having fun with a partner I have played with before. I don't want to show up, donate my money and get crushed by some OTT Forgeworld piece that I cannot fairly prepare for or compete against. Again just my opinion, do what you want...

Once again there is no voting here, forge world will be allowed. From the beginning this was meant as Adepticon prep, end of discussion. If you want to run a team tourney your way, talk to Travis there are plenty of Lock-In events coming up this year that have not been planned..

Well that answer wasn't a disappointment, pretty much what I expected, oh and planned has two "n"s in it.
Thanks for considering other opinions!

Guys we have been talking with Travis to change the April event to tie in with the Feast of Blades. Who is doing all the organizing of the schedule?
I will actually be running that one so Ben is off the hook and gets to play.

Talk to Smitty, he's the one that runs the Millennium Tournaments for Travis.

I'm confused here by some of the replies, and since I was the original person who asked if it would be allowd I apologize for some of the responses and the breakdown between groups, but Forgeworld isn't required, anyone could still play whether they brought fw or not correct? as per the adepticon rules you don't even need to bring one, I guess what I am saying is from some of the posts it seems if you don't bring forgeworld you don't play but that was never my intent to see only forgeworld. I only asked because the local player on my team is running the Helios land raider and we wanted to make sure it is worth its points and not better used elsewhere, again I didn't intend to cause such a break between the players here and hope that players without forgeworld still attend and make this a great event.
I would hate to see someone not attend simply because forgeworld was allowed. And in fact since you know what forgeworld piece we are bringing, please bring something fw or not to bring it down so that I can truly know if the helios is worth having.

Forge world is allowed BUT not required. The intent of this event is to give practice to people who are attending Adepticon.

Bryan Most of us don't have a problem with forgeworld models being used. The main point of contention seems to be that as it is only being announced a month before the tournament that forgeworld models are legal, that those of us without any forgeworld models don't have time to go buy one to use. I mean if we had a 2 month lead time, then sure, we could just put an order in. I'd love to use a contemptor, but because its not tournament legal most of the time around here, its been on the back burner for me. Also, most of us don't have access to forgeworld rules. Its going to be something we can't prepare for, and thats just not cool. I will still be playing, because I like 40k and I'm sure I'll have fun regardless, but some people will not. In the end its the TO's call, and we have to live with that.

@ Fishboy, I Modified the front page, April is yours
@ Everyone else on the forge world topic: The forge world debate is done, Smitty has executive powers on any tournaments, so yeah, you have a months warning and you want to go get a OP forge world item, Horst I get that, pay of over night or expedited shipping if it bothers you that much, the fact remains that of the 20 teams where gonna have, 1 is prob going to have forge world. Also there's what 12 Ia books and the apoc book?, I don't think there's anyone out there in our area that knows all the rules, and you have to have the rules on hand in order to play, so not knowing what your going against is out of the question
Secondly, did I not originally post that is was Adepticon rules, Now aside from myself who went last year and knew the rules, Did anyone else read them......... the Erie guys did, anyone else ,NO, because if you did then this question would probably have been asked when I posted everything in December. Heck Erie could have shown up day of with there heilos and been in the right. They where at least proper enough to double check.
