I'll save you from the angry posts you might get from some people accusing you of not reading...LMFAO!
There are links on page 2 of this thread to the Adepticon rules. Here is the simplified versions:
-Instead of a four man team, we will be playing a two person team format.
-You are responsible for bringing your parter to the event. At this time I do not believe there are provisions to pair up single players. Post in a thread if you need a partner, there may be other single players looking for someone to play with, and after its done you may have made a new friend in the process.
-Each member of the team had the option of bringing up to 1000 pts.
-Split the force org in half, each player can bring half of a force org, but when combined it still needs to be a legal force org. ( EX. Player 1 takes two heavies, therefore player 2 can only take 1 heavy.) No player can take more than half the force org. Just like standard 40K, each player must take 1 HQ and 2 Troops to be legal.
-Each player may take 1 HQ and that may be a special character. The special characters rules affect both team players.
-Due to "popular demand" a limited amount of special Forgeworld models will be allowed complete with Forgeworld rules. Consult the link on the previous page as to what models will be legal in the team tournament. They are marked on this Adepticon link with the abbreviation "TT". Each team may only bring 1 of these special models and it does have to be included in their force org. You are responsible for bringing copies of the rules for these models if you choose to use them. Proxies are not allowed, only the official Forgeworld models as per the Adepticon rules.
-The missions will be Adepticon missions.

Thanks for all that MajorSOB. What is the typical entry fee the events at Millenium?
Oh as far a partner is concerned all set on that front. I may be brining a couple of teams with me.

Can we confirm if we will be using the Adepticon Missions posted online for 2012? or are we using older Adepticon missions?

@ buffalo40k MajorSOB got most of what the break down correct, I urge you to see my post on page 2 of this thread to get clear force org break downs and links to the rules and feel free to pm me any specific questions.
@ Icemyn last I checked the missions currently posted on adepticon site are from last year, if they get this years' primers missions up we will be using them otherwise we will used last years missions. I will modify the battle points to fit our format.
@ teecypher the bothers in arms rule allow one Hq's force org changes to affect both armies as long as they come from the same codex. Special characters are still unique so you can not both bring the same name characters. (except for Black Templar's Emperor's Champion which is further explained in the rules I linked to on page 2 of this thread)

This just got asked the other day:
1) can a group of 4 "like the Adepticon teams" play and switch with each other through the tournament.: No, were go keep it as play with 2 man team through the three rounds of events . this is just a logistic issues so we can still in the tournament in a timely fashion. i would recommended that you pair your self up with what youthink the weakest paring might be
2) Can a 4 man "team" use brother in arms: Yes, But standard rules still apply, also prizes will not be given out to all 4 people just the 2 man team
So you still have time to talk with your gamers in the area, Erie, and buffalo.
Again this tournament is the western new york Adepticon warm up so that's why were allowing the force org modification. It also help the two teams that were going to have to go to Canada to get there playing time in. Again yes its a change, and I do apologize for the short notice but you still have 2 weeks to get everything set up and in general I think this will actually make for a pretty fun and also competitive tournament together. plus for the 16+ people who are going to Adepticon this will prepare you better.
Again P.m. me or post more question's and also just since things have been changing so much and I can understand why some people might be getting frustrated I promise that feb 3 everything will be set and there will not be any more changes that week leading up to the event.
Later ~Ben

This is an example of how the list for the March tournment list are going to work, points aren't exact. Also im just getting this up in my free time, im not going to address anything intill after this weekend.
Main Army Build : 1350 Points: 1 HQ, 0-2 Elites, 2-4 Troops, 0-2 Fast, 0-2 Heavy
1-2 Side Board Army’s :: 500 points: 0-1 HQ, 0-1 Elites, 0-2 Troops, 0-1 Fast, 0-1 Heavy Also between the 2350 points you have there must be a choice from each forsce org slot. i dont see this being a issue....
So in practice your building 3 army list that are separte, so one side board army can't be used to fill out a squad in the main army.
You build one 1350 point army andat least 1, but up to 2 side board armies of 500 points.
Examples: space marine (Yes points are off) hq: calgar 250points Elites: Dread 150 Elites: 10 ass termmies 400 Troops: 10 tac marine with rhino 250 Troops: 5 scouts 100 Fast: Land speder storm 100 Heavy: thunderfire cannon 100 total 1350
Side board #1 Heavy: Land raider 250 Elite: 10 stern guard 250 total 500
Side board #2 Heavy Land raider 250 Fast: attack bikes 100 Hq: Libarian 150 total 500

@ Evil_red_orks you have to each pick one of the force org's from smitty's post. and you cannot choose the same one, basically everything except troops are 0-1 and each person can make a single category except HQ 0-2 and they cannot choose to both have 0-2 for heavy for example
