There seems to be some interest building in the D&D miniatures game. I'm now aware of at least a hand full of people that now play on regular bases. I'm looking to start some sort of regular Tues nite gathering to play. Either at the store or at my house. Anyone interested?

What time are you thinking of running this little shindig, I'm up for tuesday nights, but i've gotta bail by 8:30 to get to work. 6:30ish? And have we decided on a place? Either is fine for me, but instructions to your house might be needed.
If we play at the store, is alex interested in playing too?

We had a good showing of people at my house on Sat. just to get the ball rolling. 8 players. I don't know if the store is free on tues. nites so it's still planned for my house tonight. 7pm is what told people, but if you wanna show up a lil early mike gina and I will be there.
BTW: people try and have a warband or two built before hand.

For those of you who are joining us on tues nites. I've found rules for an ongoing campaign. (Map based) that looks pretty desent. I'll work out the details over the weekend for next tues.
Please post if you are interested and what alignment your primary Warband would be?

Was looking at the web site, how about a little insight as to how the game is played, how you create warbands and how one goesa bout getting minis.
perhaps would could (eventually) do something with the sunday night crew as well...

its collected a lot like magic or the hero clix game people used to play you get 8 minis with some common some rare some uncommons... The minis other than that are random. (from the named set) all minis come with a card that has both their mini game stats on one side an standard D&D on the other. You make a warband of up to 8 from your faction. (Factions are named for 4 D&D alignments LG,LE,CG,CE) All members have to be from the same alignment. (barring specail rules) Each model has a point cost and games are played at a agreed equal point total. (Usually 50 for quick, 200 for standard or 500 for big) Most of us have been doing a good dose of trading so it wont take long to get a warband. (a really good one? who knows) Players take turns using two of their warband at a time until all the warband has gone and then start a new turn. a model can move & attack once, attack once & move, multiple attacks & no move, or move and move again. (To D&Ders this should seem familliar) There are a number of us with minis, i would be happy to demo. I am sure Alex would be happy to sell. (once he gets stock again ) The rules aredownloadable here. www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mi/errata

I would be into a demo. how "Fair" is this game...have you run into the unstoppable warband yet? Like the troll problem in mordhiem or the 2 wound beastman warband thing...
How well balanced is it? Does a goblin/orc warband have a chance against a Dragon one..ect...

I don't think we have come across anything that is unstoppable yet, but we have found modes that are hard as nails and others that just suck. I think it's the flavor of the game. Rarer models tend to be really good and the more common ones are more of crap shoot... could go either way.
It's kinda like 40k in that your going to find that nothing is un-beatable, but you are going to find warband that destroy other types of warbands. (assuming your building a theme which is not required)
Clerics warbands destroy undead warbands.... undeads destroy orcs... and so on. The best thing to due is have a mix that works well toghter.

have to go with what commander said no unbeatable band yet, saw some that dominated a few matchups and then got their @$$e$ havded to them. There are a couple good monsters out there that some people say holy beat down. But they die too.
For now i rate it a mixed bag. And nobody seems to play the exact same gang for long. People seem to want to try all their minis.

think we are jumping the gun at needing any sort of campaign.
Lets enjoy the game itself a bit longer before modding it.
Thought the campaign thing was off base about what a warband is, makes it to mass battly (sp?)
we can talk it over tonight.
