While I appreciate what you have to say, I am certain that I am backing out. This game was supposed to be all about the fun of it. Everything that's been mentioned by anyone to make this fun has been met with oppositition. First it was that Nids wouldn't have anything to deal with heavies, then that Nids will be too OTT, then that the board and mission was decided upon. Matt had an idea about how he wanted to have the mission played, I can respect that, it's his show. But the opposition to everything Nids goes beyond what Matt wants for his mission. Someone decided that they didn't want to play Nids vs. whatever back in the begining and have been opposing everything about them since. We as players are expected to commit well in advance (understandably) and in most cases need to invest a decent chunk of change to get our armies ready for Apocalyptic battle. I'm also fine with this, I knew it when I signed up. What I'm not OK with is the attitude of "You're the new player, and therefore shouldn't speak" that seems to be the theme with some of the veterans (very few, fortunately), and while this is not said so directly, there have been enough references to that opinion. I'm also not OK with spending the money, time to paint, and giving up one of the few time slots I have to see my kids for a game like this, being expected to do so at the drop of a hat, not make any suggestions on what I think would be cool or agree with what someone else thinks will be cool, etc, etc. for an event being run by someone who isn't willing able to communicate with ALL of the players more than once every 2 months. All of these things added together have sucked the fun right out of this for me, and therefore, I have decided not to play. The "misunderstanding" is only a part of this decision, but I have decided. So I am giving over 2 months notice so that someone else can step in and take my place. I will ask that you don't commit, unless you can be committed though. I also truly hope that everyone has a good time. There's no hard feelings, and I hope it's as much of a success as the last one. |

Your loss as far as im concerned. Your entitled to your own opinions Soleman, no one told you not to speak up but no one also told you to start personal attacks or slanderous remarks about people (yes they were inferred). Yet another boo hoo pity me post, no one listens to me. These are getting old. I have been trying to push this event only to be met by resitance by mostly you becuase you dont like the way it was being run. I passed the torch for you to pick up and you quit. That shows alot insight into your character. If there is one thing you take away from this if anyhting, I would reccomend it be this..."Its just a game" When it goes beyond that, then you have taken it too far. Im Sorry that you will not be attending, I would have hoped you would have kept to your commitment and stayed to play. But if you feel the need to leave, so be it.

i can understand where you are coming from soleman. and i will be more then able to commit to this. as stated before i will have to change my painting table over from what im currently working on to my apocolypse nids still waiting to be painted.
well i really hope you change your mind about not playing, and if you do shoot me a pm and let me know. i will be more then happy to give you back your spot. i really don't think things were inteanded to be harsh and negative when they were said.
as for matt not being on to communicate, i can understand where your coming from. yes people want information about the upcoming game. sometimes things happen though that can't be controlled and prevent us from doing things for a while (and im not trying to take anyone's side on this, its how i have viewed things). i think ron's statement said it best, somepeople like to lurk while other's are more open.
if you are truely out can you pm me the password to the nid board (attacker's board) so that i may speak with the team about a few idea's j've had for my nids

I passed the torch for you to pick up and you quit. Aren't you the righteous martyr. It is just a game, that's why I've lost nothing by backing out. It's not worth my time or effort if all the fun is sucked out of it. It's funny how some people on this board make personal attacks their business and hide behind the excuse of "it was meant as fun," but when one is made on them by someone, they are just being persecuted without basis. But whatever, man, it's just a game, enjoy it. And just for the record, since when have I cared what people think? I'm not looking for pity, this is my decision and I'm fine with it, think what you want. |

Skyth I though you were still hiding with the square bases becuase you cried so much about the 40k edition, why are you back here bringing up the past? (that was mean)

Tommy, if you going to try and take the role as Moderator on this topic, try and leave the personal digs out of it. A simple reply that a spot has opened would have been sufficient. My basis for playing the game was not dependant on my own Created Data sheet, but with all the issues that arose out over it, alot of the fun was replaced with bitter feelings. Even after a points costs was decided by the Imperial Player, more harsh words were said over the data sheet and about me as a person. After a point this becomes less about a fun themed game and more about personal agendas and its starts to ruin the fun for some people. I decided to open my spot now and that gives the tyranid teams plenty of time to fill a spot. |

I will offer my services of playing for the Nid side since Zig will not be using 1/2 of his bug stuff this game if you still need a player..
I can offer a solution as it may not be very popular, but it will cut out all the drama and or bit*hing. No custom Data Sheets or Custom strategic assets.. Only use those that are in the books and or those from Bell of Lost Souls publication.. But thats just my opinion.
Also may I ask again when this game is again? I really don't have the time to read though all this B.S. just to get the date and location info.

I am sorry for your level of fustration. I did honestly hope we can still get in a 1:1 some time without any negative feelings.
That said plese personal message me with an answer to this question. (Everyone has heard more than enough.)
What did Matt, Dacius, Kdawg, Specail Dave, or I do or day that was so game breaking that it caused you to break your commitment to the 5 of us?
Personally i hope in the next month we can convince you to rejoin the event. That however is up to you and we will concider you decision to leave as serious.
