You'll get there. It took a really long time for me to win my first game. I still lose at least half of them. The players at Boldo's are very good (Well except for Doug ), so the more you play against them, the better you'll get!

And who knew Orville would be at the top spot at the end of week one. Who is going to knock him of the top...who knows? Stay tuned in 2 weeks with 200 more points and see! That 600 whopping points! The tournament was well run and alot of fun. Ron did a great job organizing it and accommodating everyone with the limited space we had. I sincerely thank him for his efforts and apologize for my inappropriate conduct yesterday morning. I am looking forward to the next week of competition and seeing everyone's army develop into their own complete fully painted masterpieces. Kudos to all, there are some really sharp looking armies in the works, keep up the great work.
Now with that being said, you are so going down Orville. I got mine painted for 600 points, do you? I got lucky and escaped the Ork onslaught yesterday but I have a feeling that wont last forever! BTW good luck painting all those Orks! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I have to say that I loved the look on the marine players faces as I slapped down my 2 20 man squads. It was priceless.
Going to be interesting to see what an extra 200 points adds to everyones's lists.
ORKS KICK ASS.

Well, I think I can see a lot of flamers...Both literally and coming up in the 600 point round! ROFL ;D ;D As for the tournament, everyone knows my view on it...though I'm REALLY surprised...there's a really limited list of armies out there. No Necrons (but in a painting league, I don't blame people), no Guard (which, again, I can see sorta, though orks are a lot too!), and no Eldar of any kind! What's up with that?!?! Just thought I'd throw that out there...

Glad to see you coming back Thomas.
Your guard is looking really good so far, glad to see you painting them!
As for your play on the field, dont get discouraged. You have picked armies that are not very learner friendly to start with. Guard should get a needed boost sometime next year with a new codex but until then you are going to have to work for your wins!

GOOD TIME, THINGS WENT WELL, 5TH ADDITION WAS GREAT AND TO FINISH THIS NON-SENTENCE: HERE ARE SOME CONSIDERATIONS.
I DID IT, I BROKE ALL THE GRAMMAR RULES.
1) MIGHT WANT TO CONSIDER POINT VALUE OF GAMES AND HOW MANY POINTS PER GAME CAN BE SCORED. WHY, BECAUSE EACH SUNDAY SHOULD HAVE THE SAME AMOUNT OF POINTS AVAILABLE FOR SCORING.
2) TOMMY, KEVIN AND I WERE RUNNING THRU (NOT THROUGH) THE 5TH EDITION RULES PRIOR TO THE START OF GAME ONE. AS THINGS ARE BEING ORGANIZED IT MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA FOR A QUESTION & ANSWER PERIOD FOR THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED. WE STILL HAVE SOME GRAY AREA'S.
3) AT 1,000 POINTS IT MIGHT BE FUN BE HAVE ADEPT ICON (DRAGON SPELLING RULES) TEAM OF 2 ARMIES.
4) A THANKS TO MY OPPONENTS: S.O.B. THE DOUG, BRIAN WITH OUT A NICKNAME, GABE DUDE GABE AND TOMMY CATCHA WHAT!
5) AND LAST DEDICATED TO DACIUS, JUST FOCUS ON PLAYING AND HAVE FUN. AFTER ALL MOST OF THE TIME YOU'RE FACING THE BEST PLAYERS AROUND. GOT A RUN, CIAO!

Thank you all for the comments.
As long as you all have fun then thats all that matters. I will try to keep this a fun league and any comments or suggestions are welcome.
Dragon, there are some surprises in store and your very close to one that I have in mind. Im not telling you but keep that in the back of your mind for the future.
As for rules questions, put them out there but I only ask you do that in a diffrent post and under the rules section. Maybe name it rules discussions escalation league or something.
Dacius, I am very glad you are going to stay, your guard do look good and im always glad to have more people compete.
Thank you all for coming and putting forth the effort to complete your armies. They all look great! We eventually want to get pictures of the armies and I am working with Tom on that. Hopefully we will see you all back in 2 weeks with 200 more points.

so we are still doing the army composition guidelines we had before?
600 pts is kind of alot to keep those... i think any army can do a normal force org at that level... and having the limit on hq really screws me cuz i cant get any more synapse...
not really complaining, just a point that came up when me and brian were talking earlier...

I understand your concern but what I would advise is taking more genestealer since they are immune to synapse. At 800 points your army gets good, just ride it out and things will be OK.
EDIT- I just reviewed the rules and it states "No models with more than 2 wounds". You could take warriors, they are only 2 wounds and provide synapse.
