Ahh, could someone explain to me why im a whopping 5% behind people that have the same points as me and have played the same number of games please???!!! I think we should just use the overall points instead of this percentage system. Why complicate things. (Example)You have after dropping your current lowest scoring week of a 2 currently have 42 points out of a total 60 points 42/60 * 100 = 70.0% (Example) Norton after dropping his current lowest scoring week of 3 will currently have 41 points out of a total 54 points 41/54 * 100 = 75.9% Why should we not use strait points, because Ron posted before all this started we all could drop our lowest week because inevitably some of us were going to miss at least one week. Since not all weeks are equal points the only fair way is to figure out a percentage score. Of the points from the weeks we are actually scoring. We wont all end up with the same grand total points. You say why complicate things but isn’t the question shouldn’t we fairly and accurately show how people did in comparison to each other.IF WEEK 10 IS THE END, TOMMY HAS ALREADY WON THE TOURNAMENT. YOU CAN STATISTICALLY SAY IT'S NOT OVER, BUT THAT WOULD BE A W.O.W. (WORST ON WORST) SCENARIO. I DON'T HOW MANY WEEKS ARE LEFT, BECAUSE IT STOPS AT 10. GOOD LUCK WITH THIS MATH, YOU NEED A MONTE CARLO PROGRAM! I know you don’t think there are 10 weeks because there are only 9 to the whole league. I don’t know about it stopping at 10 but you all have access to the whole schedule to the league and know how many weeks there are. (Even you DRAGON) I know you wont be fooled if I post who takes part in game 9 and game 10. Actually you don’t need any program, although I used excel. All you need is high school math. (DRAGON if your confused PM me and I can explain all the addition and division.) Thank you for your inaccurate math Dragon because you couldnt be more wrong. Let me enlighten you a little bit since your math is off. If tommy wins both his remaining matches he stands at 68 (-4 for lowest week) = 64 If orville wins the remaining 3 of his games he sits at 66 (-2 for his lowest week) = 64 That would result in a tie. That is of course if tommy wins Ranked matches vs the higher ranks, which I would assume are more competitive players/armies. Terri That percentage thing is just a statistic for fun to see how many points you scored from the total availble to you at the time. Its not being used to determine the winner but it could be that the person that scores the highest percentage of the points could come out the winner anyways. Actually Ron (As orville pointed out) my lowest week currently is a 5 so assuming we both win all of our remaining games Orville will end up with 64 of 78 points = 82.1% and I will end up with 63 of 72 points = 87.5% Ron if your not adjusting for the fact that each week isn’t equal than your not really letting people drop a bad or absent score and I guess you should just use the full gross total (not dropping anything.) that way everyone could earn the same amount of points. Mind you I recognize we all have 2 or 3 games left and Orville and I could both lose all our games and Norton could win all his beating us both. So please don’t assume that I am asking for anything but an accurate reflection of how people did when this is over. (That and that DRAGON learns math.) If Norton beats me its ok. Just so long as Foser doesn't

Actually Tom I fixed the math as orville pointed out before you posted, it now reflects it accuratley.
People were aware of what was happeneing when the schedules were changed becuase of the lack of space and there being a need to split up games. I think changing the way things are scored now would be looked upon negatively because one person had a big influence in the creation of the schedule and that person also happens to be in the running for lead.
I am sticking with what I said in the begining of the league, Players will be dropping thier lowest week, if they missed a week then that will be thier lowest score (0). So in essence, yes, I am letting people drop thier lowest score, at the end of the league when scores are tallied. Peoples worst weeks may yet come into play and I nor anyone else, unless you have special powers, can forsee the future. For that reason alone I am not droppping scores and reflecting them in the tallies weekly.
I ask you and everyone else please be patient and in the end the scores will be tallied and reflect the end results accurately.

I agree with Tom that it should be based on a %. Statistically it's possible that after my lowest week is dropped and then possible points are calculated, by the percentage I could not be in last place!

Ok tommy maybe im not as smart as u, but how can my possible total points(60) be more than Norton;s possible points(54) if we have played the same number of games??? because the week norton got his lowest score drops is 3 points out of 12 the week you got your lowest score your drop is 2 out of 6 points. his lowest score was on a 12 point week yours was on a 6 point week. not all people can score the same ammount on each week, some are worth 12 others only 6

I had thought about that after I posted, and it makes sense. Thank u for the explanation.
I guess that would also make me a lower seed when deciding who i play the next couple of games then.

WARNING THIS MAYBE WAY ABOVE YOU!WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I STATED WORST ON WORST. IT'S NOT MATH, PROBABILITY BASED ON STATISTICS! YOU CAN FRAK AROUND WITH MEANINGLESS NUMBERS AND WISH LISTS ALL YOU WANT! BUT ALL THE FACTORS THAT ARE BUILT IN TO THE EQUATIONS ARE LEFT OUT. WHAT ARMY PLAYS WHAT ARMY, WEIGHT FOR PLAYERS SKILL FACTOR, THE DESIGN OF THE GAME WHICH YOU NOW HAVE TO FACTOR IN, (WHY BECAUSE 40K IS DESIGNED TO END IN A DRAW)....ECT. YOU HAVE TO MANY FACTORS IN THE EQUATION TO USE STANDARD MATH OF WHICH NONE OF THESE ARE NOISE IN THE EQUATION. AVERAGING AVERAGES IS NOT MATH, THERE FOR I SHALL GIVE AN EXAMPLE OF THE ODDS THAT TOMMY ISN'T CHAMPION. THE ODDS OF TOMMY LOOSING FIRST PLACE IS EQUIVALENT TO: THE BRIGHTEN HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM GETTING A 48 point SPOT AGAINST THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS AND WINNING. I DON'T GET, IT'S NOT PERSONAL, IT'S LIFE! LET ME BE THE FIRST TO CONGRATULATIONS YOU COLONEL CATACHAN!
YA, IT'S TRUE! THIS JUST MIGHT BE MY BEST POSTING EVER, HOW ANAL! HAVE A NICE DAY, CIAO! ;D ;D ;D

Dragon if you don't like whats going on I invite you to leave and not participate in the finals.
I'm sorry that you did not have the skill or ability to be in the running or lead for the League but that's no reason to rant and rave like a child that there is no way for you to win the tournament.
This tournament was put together for the pure enjoyment of the players with no personal gain of my own. Time and effort was put forth to make things different, new and exciting as well as challenging. I expressed the importance of this was more a painting League than a real tournament. And in the tournament portion of the League you were to expect anything and everything.
Its unfortunate that you had some poor play weeks like some other players but you don't see them complaining because they cannot win. Like with all play offs there are just some teams or players that just wont be able to win this contest, specifically those on the bottom. That's a fact of life. Unfortunately there are losers (and your one of them) in every game. But this hobby and game would be best served if those people not put the game in disrepute (Noun- a loss or lack of good reputation).
I would ask you to stop with the complaining about how only one person can win, though you statement is false I know there is no way to change your mind, nor would I care to. However I would ask this keeps on topic, POSITIVELY.
At the conclusion, like last time I ask for comments, criticisms and anything players would like to say. Then would be a good time for you to share your thoughts.

I have something positive...I gave my twenty bucks for this tournament knowing full well (well, anticipating it mostly) that I wouldn't be able to finish for both monetary and transportation reasons... Now, somehow, the monetary reasons were only for lack of transportation (which surprised me), but I do have all/most of the models I would like to use in the tournament, all the way up to 2000. Not all of them are painted, but I am keeping up with the point values! Now, though I entered this tournament knowing full well that I wouldn't finish, what would be the reason for coming in? Couldn't I just keep up pace outside of the tournament and saved myself twenty bucks? Of course, but I came in for a change of pace, as I think Ron has definitely given us. Yeah, some weeks weren't that great, specially with some of the missions, but it was different, and I think that was the point of this league. Now, what I think would be for the best in both this league and on the boards would be for everyone to get their heads out of their a$$es and think about the bigger picture. Yeah, winning is fun. But not everyone can be a winner! You guys can compete over biggest loser if that's the way you like it! LOL Sorry for the rant, but I just can't believe how the atmosphere has changed on the boards ever since I came on... Just have faith in Ron (as bad and horrible as that sounds), and I'm sure he's capable of doing this on his own the way he had it all planned out. Oh, and I will be posting pictures of my army at 2000 points, just to show I've been keeping up with you all!

i for one entered this league not caring what place i came in. i entered it looking forward to the challenges ron could throw at us. some of them proved to be more then my orks could handle, but hey i wouldnt of gotten my army painted as fast as i have without the help of this league. i know for sure if it wasnt for this league i would still be working on my 600 point mark.
keep us posted ont he pictures gary i will be looking forward to seeing the 200 point army.

I first have to say that although this is not anyones game for first place. Sorry McCommander and KDawg The results are far from determined. I'm sorry that you did not have the skill or ability to be in the running or lead for the League but that's no reason to rant and rave like a child that there is no way for you to win the tournament. I also have to take great objection to this remark. It was not DRAGON'S lack of skill or ability that put him in his current crushed state... It was me and the brutal beating I gave him week one. Come on!!!!! Losing to 400 points of yellow armored wusses and some green bird men? No wonder you have no spirit left. DRAGON you even had a second chance in the 600 point week and could not win. Seriously I am suprised that you even bothered to keep showing up. DRAGON dont blame fortune or chance or poor skill, blame me! I was the one who puppy kicked you. 2 Weeks left and i still have not played Solstice, RangerDude, Aradian, Dacius, Gary, Soleman, Kdawg or Foser. Hopefully the IronGOD will give me some fresh meat!

Let's keep it positive!
First I am positive that Ron has done and outstanding job running this thing. It is hard to organize something like this as well as keep it fresh and interesting. Some things weren't that great like last weeks mission but for the vast majority of this it has worked out very well. My criticisms are that we did need more placement rounds. Tommy jumped out a lead and extended it over most of the filed by kicking puppies while we tried to close the gap. Also dropping one week does not work statistically since not all weeks were equal. I am trying to follow the logic but percentage does not work ( for the reason of dropping unequal weeks) and in the end all the players SHOULD have had the same chance to gain the same amount of points. Again I know that Ron did try but this is something that fell through the cracks and can be improved upon if we do this again.
On a more positive note we have had a great turnout and most of the players have done and excellent job keeping up and introducing their freshly painted armies to the many already in circulation. Great jobs gentlemen! ( And to you Foser, K-dawg, and Gary, line up you all got a roll shambol coming from me and I AM GOING FIRST! )
The last positive note is that had this been run with a few minor improvements you would have been congratulating me and not Tommy, positively!!!!! My army positively destroys his. Tommy, the only thing you need to clean up your army is a sponge since after the game all that will be left is a few bloody spots where some Tau and Kroot troops may have once stood! Remember this guys, Nurgle for the win!

I went back and looked at the score cards and as of right now unless some one has a terrible week where they lose both of thier games (depending on the person), everyone would be droppping a week with only one game or none (meaning a no show).
So it may be thoeretically possible that someone drops a week with two games, it doesnt look like its going to happen. But we still have 2 weeks left.
