March 31 to April 1 is SIMCON at the University of Rochester. Once again we will be running the Games Workshop Championship. Saturday March 31 is the 40k team tournament 1500pts per person. Each player gets one force org chart modified as follows. Only one HQ, 2 fast attack, 2 elites, and 2 Heavy slots. No team can have duplicate named characters or other unique items. Brother in Arms Rule will be in effect. Sunday is the 2400pt Fantasy tournament. This is a singles tournament and will have the following rules in effect. Reguardless of the spell all characters are allowed a look out sire roll from all spells that would affect them. There are prizes for both tournaments and a prize for the best overall score in both tournaments so break out you fantasy armies and vie for the big prize.

If my wife decides to do a staycation that week, I'll be there. Somewhat unlikely though. -Walter

I'll be there as always. I've never heard of this "Brothers in Arms" rule though anyone have a link?

rwag - All it means is that unless both players are of the same codex they cannot share rides or benefit from the other players special rules. I.E. Blood Chalice etc.

So basically your saying that people who play the same codex as their partner can make much better armies.
Gotcha!

Is there any limit on troops choices?
If I understand it correctly, its
1 HQ 2 Elite 6 Troops 2 Fast 2 Heavy
as maxes for force org?

well I'm not planning on using it! Though 12 lascannon razorbacks would be a cool troops section between 2 armies

Is painting counted for this tournament? I have a couple models I'd like to use, with older paintjobs... they aren't great compared to my newer stuff. If painting is a large component, I'll repaint em

What catagories will be judged besides pure battle points?
Comp?
Painting?

We will be judging painting and use a player ranking for comp and sportsmanship. There will be prizes for best overall, best opponent (painting +sportsmanship), and best general (battle + comp). If there are a lot of teams we will give out more stuff.
