Ok two things, can we get a actual posting of brother in arms since there's like 2-3 different rendition posted in and second why is Comp in with best General? how does a 2-0-1 team a better general than a 3-0-0 team?

I agree I would also like a posting of "brothers in arms" especially if there are multiple versions.
That and keep the comp in best general because a team that goes 2-0-1 with a good comp fair and balanced army should do better than a Win at All Cost list that happened to get some lucky match ups while only using 3 units from a codex that usually had 20 or so options. The team that did it with comp is a better team and should be rewarded as such!

They have that, already in overall, were a 2-0-1 with comp makes sense for a winner, and I'm pretty sure general won't be then "best" prize.

+1 for keeping comp with best general. I would rather play balanced and themed lists than a crap-ton of razor- longfang Wolves spam or Grey Knights psyfleman palazzo. If you strip out comp "that team" will show up and make it a suckfest for everyone who has to play them. Also please do not post a comp rubric even if there is one since I don't want to see it gamed prior to the tournament. We are all big boys here, and we should all know the difference between a balanced list and an OTT net spammed list by now. Bring what you like but suffer the consequences of your actions.

Well, I thought I knew the difference between a "balanced list and an OTT net spammed list". Does that include 9 oblit lists or ones with 9 fast skimmers? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Pls define the terms for me, I'm not so bright.

Thanks Tommy. I wasn't too worried because I don't even own enough models to make what most would consider a "OTT spammy netlist".
I was more interested in SOB's stance since he took 9 oblits to several comp events and was "that guy that made it a suckfest" for me. I don't see the difference between 9 oblits and the "longfang spam" or "psyfleman palazzo" that he's referencing. Nor the difference between "razor spam" and a DE list with 6 raiders and 3 ravagers. In fact, I can only recall seeing SOB bring a list that I didn't consider a "spammy netlist" once in two years. Just wondering if he's had a change of heart when it comes to 40k philosophy or if it's hypocritical doublespeak.

Well, I guess I'm changing what my team is bringing. something tells me 8 predators on the field would net my team low composition scores. Thanks Tommy. Can we keep the trolling to a minimum? Not very encouraging to come back from a long hiatus to see that garbage.

Love you guys!
FWI I know the difference between a balanced list and an OTT build, and I know EXACTLY what a 9 oblits build deserves. That fellow campers is my whole point here. I know just how well everyone here will take a "fair and balanced" comp rubric and pack more crap into it than the local sewage treatment plant. Again that is my point, we all know the difference by now what is between what a balanced and competitive list is and what a ball stomping OTT monstrosity is. That is why I support the addition of comp to the battle points since it is ugh harder to maximize your points when you are playing a list that isn't completely optimized. I won't sit here and tell you that I haven't been sucked in and played hard lists in the past because I have but in my opinion this game that we all love offered much more fun when people played interesting middle of the road builds and focused on the fun they were having with friends rather than the big win. If you like the way we have played recently then we can go back to the crap where everyone power builds and micro manages their lists to get max points. But do me, and yourselves a favor and play this tournament with some elements of the unknown and focus on the fun it might be just to play. You might see this game in a whole different light and if you don't like it then we all can go back to the same crap we have been mired in for most of 5th edition. Rant off, I gotta go figure out what I am taking instead of 9 oblits, where are my 10 spawn at...

10 randomizing spawn on the table would be funny as hell hehehe. As for Comp and local lists, when I came into this territory all I heard was this was a comp and fluffy area. I adjusted my lists (with at the speed I paint takes some time and have found this area is pretty much anything but compy. I have seen guys whine about bringing named charactors for an entire game then bring 2 to the next game and just shrug their head. Net lists abound , spam lists are common, and power gaming is there. I would be lying if I said my frustrations have not shown but I still believe there is a great gaming area here and when time allows I will play whatever anyone brings.

I still refuse to take mephiston in my BA lists. I have some self respect Excuse me as I plop my 11 tanks down on the table please. Self respect is important, especially when using green codex marines as Blood Angels I suppose Doug will support the GT next year since it has included comp score in the "Best General" scoring for the past two years and he's supporting it all of a sudden. Sorry, I'm not trying to troll or sound like a douche, I just find things funny. Like, funny haha not funny uhoh. For instance, this event is called "Games Workshop Championship", yet it uses comp which is not supported, defined, or even mentioned in the current ruleset, nor does it appear in Throne of Skulls or 'Ardboyz which are the only GW sanctioned events. Yet we can call this event the "GW Championship" and penalize players who bring armies that are 100% supported and legal at GW sponsored events. Tomorrow I will be hosting the New York Chili cook-off. Points will be deducted from contestants who use beef and/or beans.

Tomorrow I will be hosting the New York Chili cook-off. Points will be deducted from contestants who use beef and/or beans. It may only be march, but i think we have a winner for quote of the year. But yeah, I would like to see a comp system first, since A) its semi self "comping" already with only 0-2 in a 1500 point list and B) if its one where it goes after duplicate units i'm fine but if its one like, OMG YOU TOOK LONG FANGS AND YOUR PLAYING SPACE WOLFS YOU GET -3908439028409, or OMG YOU TOOK GUARD AND HAVE MORE THAN ONE PIECE OF ARMOR AND THIS IS NOT ARD' BOY'Z then that's semi garbage since your then basically telling me that the older dex's will win Everything you "buy" has a preview and review in life, football has the preseason and post season, movies have pompous critics and then fan boys and girls, education has the SAT's (both preview and review at once), so when i'm buying into a tournament I like to know what im getting into and how my army is going to be reviewed in that specific setting.
