So I got a jug of simple green. Can anyone walk me through stripping some painted models?

Honestly, unless there are globs of old paint, i've just primed right over them. Sometimes i just scrape away old glue joins with a razor blade or sandpaper.

Basically it goes like this:
Soak models in undiluted simple green. For metal models you can leave them in there indefinitely. For plastic models i've found the plastic starts to soften if i leave them in for more then a week. (i forgot some guys in a tub in the basement once..) Let them soak for 2-3 hours, the paint should get gummy at this point, scrub models with old toothbrush and the majority of the paint will pull right off (almost like chicken skin) do not run under water during this paint, it pulls the solvent back out of the paint and makes it harder. I usually dunk the models for another couple hours and scrub again to get the last of the paint from the corners etc, Once happy with the paint removal rinse very well in warm water. Rinse more then you think you need to, it only takes an extra couple minutes to make sure. Allow the models to dry overnight to be sure.
Thats it, if the paint isn't too thick you may only need once through the bath. The stuff isnt too noxious but dish gloves aren't a bad idea otherwise your hands smell minty fresh for days after...

Some toothpicks may help to pull paint out of the annoying corners or deep cracks that the toothbrush has trouble getting to.
As a warning, do this is a big tub, the little paint flecks will dry and solidify on the surface of your bathroom sink and the wife will get mad if you do not.

I use one of my sculpting tools to dig out the crevases on models. Works better than a toothpick since it doesn't get mangled over time.

I left a Rhino in a tupperware of this stuff for about a month and a half and although it smelled liek simple green for a few months, it did not suffer any long term damage (not that I recommend it, it made my whole case smell like it).
Otherwise, as stated. I would put a wire mesh catch over the sink as well if you are stripping any larger models. I clogged the sink with the semi-dissolved paint.

I recommend washing the models afterwards with a mild soap or very duluted DAwn. The one time I tried this I found some spots hard to get paint to readhere to and suspect I did a crappy job washing the models. Now I just buy new stuff hehe.

Simple green is good, i've have more luck with Super Clean, is oven degreaser, work the same on plastice models and SOOOOO good on metal, dont even have to scrub them.
Anyone try this yet on finecast?

Well its not like we dont have plenty of models to experiment on. My guess is it will not work well at all. What I have seen with finecast is the resin seems more porus and I am betting it will be harder to get the paint off. Not only that but the models are so fragile you probably will have issues with them breaking.

If you are looking to destroy Finecast models I've found that gently knocking them over during play or perhaps trimming some flash to be sufficient to destroy them....

Thanks everyone for the input. I decided to actually try Kevin's method first and just primed over the old black and green. I'm tired of you bastards hating on my Nid's paintjob hah. So here you go, repainted goodness. Now I gotta try to get 1,000pts done in the next 3 weeks.

Looks really good Aaron, the color selection is awesome and I like the touch of bone/tan on the carapace to make them feel a bit more earthy. How did you do your purple? I might have to steal that from you? Same with the green on the gun, looks like there is a yellow highlight in there?
I think you forgot though that the internet says Tyranids stink.
