Whip,
Dark Eldar are a fun army to collect and play. They have a variety of play styles from fast, assualting forces to webway portal foot lists and everything in between. There are a few guys that play them around here and would probably like to share their playstyles.
If you are not busy on Saturday, some of us will be at Millennium from 12-5 offering open gaming and painting/ modeling tips. One of the guys that will be there is currently building a Dark eldar force for NOVA so feel free to stop by and hang out for the afternoon and get in a game or two.
My name is Kevin and i'll be bringing either my chaos marines or eldar.
Hope to see you there and feel free to ask any questions on the board.
Kevin

I will be there Sat as well with my DE and will be happy to share any insights I have. DE are a very tough list to play but can still be fun and the models are beautiful!!!

We have no problem with your age at all. Its your maturity level that we guage you on I would recommend a 10 man unit of Scourges as a good starting point. Then figure how you want to build your troops. Did you want to do a Hellion army, wrack army, or just warrriors and wyches?

i wanted to do warriors and wyches but also some room for some specials like reavers and some hellions, Ive been thinking of doing a baron sathonyx conversion and adding a couple hellions. and i was also thinking of grabbing some beast masters and give my archon or someone a web-way portal and bring them in through that, just to get them closer to the fray they are a close combat unit. (insight on that pwease) ( ithink im pretty mature somtimes.)

Beasts in a WWP used to be great but now they can not assault when coming out of the WWP so that tactic is pretty much canned. Beasts are not a bad unit if you do something large. The Archon works great with the addition of a court. I know some guys like the Hellion units and the Baron makes them troops I believe.

yes the baron does make hellions troops. so you are right that is canned.... ugh. i like the idea of a beast master with 5 kymareha. but is that effective and is there a way i can get them into the fray quicker. and if i were to take baron, how many hellions would balance with my wyches and kabals? also what court is a good add? if you dont mind me asking what is your name, first only don't need any special info. not a stalker.

I am Joe. Small beast packs are only there to give your opponent kill points ;D
Beast work well with about 10 Kymeria and a few of the razorwings as well for the rending.
Aaron and myself tried to run a coven list but with 6th ed we got hosed. Going with the hellions, wyches, and warriors as troops is the better choice now. Use the warriors as your fire bases and let them sit on objectives close to your deployment zone. Use Scourges to slow the enemy down and Wyches/hellions as a way to get into their DZ and contest or take their objectives.

ohh okay. so beast master is a maybe now not a for sure glad i asked. thank you. and thank you for the help with tactics. also what court members would be the best for the archon, and what covens do you recommend. plus i was thinking about getting a kabalite true-born hooking them up with either two blasters two shredders, or four blasters and two dark lances put them on a raider and making them a mobile devastator squad. were you at millennium last night? my name is robert. (sorry for the barrage of questions.)

The Ravager has 3 dark lances.
The trueborn with 4 blasters in a raider is a VERY good unit if you can keep the raider alive. Some will run them in a venom.
No I was not able to make it last night. There is a guy with fried green tomato Blood angels that cancled on me at the last minute ;D

aww that sucks, my prblem with playing is most people want to play game sizes i cant. due to my lack of money which leads to my lack of models. luckily a guy could compencate and i could play i love the friendly atmosphere there.and i know about the ravager... but with the trueborn taking two dark lances and the raider having one adds to 3. although different models.
and what do you recommend putting in my archon court?
