Greetings all,
I am going to attend the GT this year, but I need some info so I do not show up with an illegal army. I could not find the info anywhere!
What of the following is allowed and what is not: 1) allies 2) double force organization chart 3) fortifications 4) unpainted models
Thanks everyone! It would be great if someone could answer this. I am sure there are others who would like to know about these questions. One cannot make a list without knowing this stuff. Thanks again!

I'm also not staff or an official spokesperson but here's what I gather based on the website (http://www.daboyzgt.com/40K.aspx), previous year, and rumors.
1. Allies - yes per the new rules and chart 2. Double FoC - only at 2,000+ and this GT is currently listed at 1850pts 3. Fortifications - yes to everything except Fortress of Redemption? (maybe Jay will clarify) 4. Previous years have been 3 color minimum painting to play but this was very loosely enforced (not at all?). However, painting does make up a respectable chunk of your points.

Thanks guys!
I appreciate people with answers, even if they are not official. You all live and play together in the same two places, so you guys know a lot more then I do about this sort of stuff. Thanks again.
As for the points size, I forgot about that. Good point. As for painting scores, I could care less. I paint my models because I love doing so and because it makes the game more fun for me and my opponent, not because I am a competetive painter or care what judges think of my paintjob. I just wanted to make sure there weren't any crazy rules about armies that were not fully painted being outlawed!
Alright guys, sounds good. I will probably be seeing you all at the tournament, if all goes well until then. Do you guys know how long I have until the tickets run out (in a general sense)?

I don't believe tickets have ever "sold out". This year they're planning for up to 120 and last year we had 91. I think you'll easily be safe until 2 weeks before the event.
Hopefully we get some updates with ticket sales and such before too long.

I am planning on getting the ticket about a month ahead of time, in order to try to make sure nothing screwy happens to stop me from going to the tournament, like work or something like that.

Hey All,
I am going to try to assist with information and organizing. There are some updates coming to the GT website but I thought I'd provide some of the details here. Here is the details on allies and fortifications:
Special characters, allied detachments and Fortifications (subject to the following) will be allowed as provided in the 6th edition rulebook. Fortifications: A player who selects a Fortification floating slot may purchase 1fortification (plus upgrades) from the 40k 6th Ed Rule Book. A Fortification plus upgrades may not exceed 200pts of your force. Fortifications purchased MUST be the GW Model. Scratch build and counts-as fortifications will be allowed provided they are no larger than the GW model. Conversions of the GW fortifications which are sized differently will result in removal of the model from your force for the duration of the tournament. If you have any questions regarding the suitability of your conversion please contact us at daboyzrocgt@gmail.com The regular terrain on the table is fixed in position at the start of the tournament. Fortifications may be deployed on the table, in accordance with scenario rules and as such that they are not within 3” of another piece of terrain. If you are unable to place your fortification in such a fashion it may not be deployed that game. (i.e. You may struggle to place the bigger pieces)
We are also planning on having the Friday event. We are just waiting on some final confirmation as to room availability.
Also, Lets start to get a table count. I will create a new thread for this so anyone who is able/willing please indicate how many tables they are able to provide. We may need to expand on this as there is an increased amount of "out of towner" interest for from first time participants. We have always excelled at the quality of our tables and I (as I am sure all of you) want to continue that for our region.

Would the friday event be a team tournament? (assuming there is space and all to host it)
Might have to Greg, Brad, and Mike ready for this one!

Hey Shaun,
I just checked the website again to be sure, but there is nothing there about more then one tournament. Is there more then one 40K tournament? Does one have to pay extra money to play in any other 40K events there beyond the main 40 grand tournament?
Thank you!

We are in the process of having the regular website updated. Most likely the Friday event will be some form of a team event and we are leaning towards the 4 man team event that was held last year. Again, this is subject to working out the details with the venue. There would be an additional cost to participate (a cost per team) in this event seperate from the regular event. I will have to find out what this was last year and we will have everything updated.
Thanks again for your patience and interest.

With the eminent release of the Chaos codex on the 6th, is the new codex going to be used?

I believe the stance was if the book has been out for a month then the new one is used. I'll check with everyone else who is going to be involved just to confirm.

just to throw in my 2 cents about chaos..making an exception for that army would probably be beneficial, as this will be the biggest release for fans since the huge letdown that is the current CSM codex..considering everyone and their mother will be chomping at the bit to play them making that exception for the players that make up a large majority of 40k fans (face it there are a metric F*&kton of players that play chaos) whom own chaos armies and are dying to play the new rules may benefit the turnout..usually people like to test the tweaks, but by the time theyre released most of them will prbably will have already played a good deal of games

If 10/6 holds true, then 5 weeks until the GT is plenty of a grace period. They're going to need to be painted and based too which is no small task in 5 weeks. If anything, it will be bad for CSM players as they'll be too busy painting the new models and won't get much practice/playtesting.
