A similar thought would be to do something like what they did in White dwarf a few years back with multiple tables running at once, but effecting each other. I believe they ran a breakout mission on one to determine the arrival of reserves on the main table, and there was an assault mission being run to silence some big guns that were bombarding the main table. I always thought something like that would be fun. If not for this challenge, then maybe as a fun thing on our own.

I like your ideas James and Gabe, but not for this tourney. The way I saw things, the Syracuse guys wanted some payback and were a bit enbarrassed by the buttkicking that was dropped on them. They requested a team tourney, but my idea was a simple format to determine whose club has the better players. Again I like you ideas, I think this would be a great tourney to play, just not for this challenge.

Now if we could only agree on maybe a date,etc.. like IW said....

That's why I put in the comment at the end. I would actually try these on our own. These would be too much fun to invite the Syracuse guys. Just send a few of us up there to whup them and get it over with.

OK. Its the beginning of the year. Just so you know these things stay as pipe dreams unless some grabs the bull by the horns and does it. We already have a location to play. Tom's brother offered the GW store. We just need to move forward with dates and formats.

For our first Daboyz vs Syracuse try lets keep it to our 2 groups. Having Buffalo would be nice, but then we need to find a place in Rochester to play. Lets make this happen and get on with putting our trophy at Boldo's.. :-)

As for trophys. , I had a simple idea. How about the Golden Cheesecutter Award, since cheese seems to be an ongoing topic here. The trophy would consist of a cheesecutter spraypainted gold, mounted on a wooden plaque with an appropriate brass nameplate. What do you think?

I think before we consider trophys we should get dates and times and places. And I believe the syracuse peeps were making trophies? Some reply from our go between would be nice....or perhaps some coordination?

Not so, the discussion is still alive. I talked with a few Syracuse players when I was there saturday. They still want to play just with the upcoming tourneys and prepping for Adepticon it might be a while before we get a solid date.
