Hey Mike,
Based on playing my k-sons I think that you will find that every point you spend on the Aspiring Champ who is the Deamon Vessel for Big Bird is a waste of points. Once Big Bird comes in he is dead, the thralls disappear, no more doom bolt or power weapon either. Take these points and try to get your deamon squads to number 9. Perhaps you do this by adding horrors to these squads instead of 5 flamers each ... much more tzeentchy imho.

I always like to see more 1ksons list I have always seen the two major drawbacks to the 1ksons as there lack of high str firepower and there mobility. Unfortunetly when building the list you can fix either weakness, but usually not both. I have never played an all foot sloggin 1Ksons list, but I like the look of yours. I have questions/suggestions if you do not mind. I like the idea of the Termies. I would get a teleport homer on one of the squads just to guarantee arrival to where you want them if you need to deep strike, with such an expensive squad. Do you plan on using them as another shooty unit with better armour? Paul makes a good point about the flamers and the demonvessel. I do not find Flamers all that useful for there price. For a point more you can get another 1kSon, they usually work well adding one or two to unit of horror's. I would take away the gift of choas on Big Bird There is so few mobile units in your army that last thing you want is BB's movement dropping down to 6' just to keep up with a spawn. Winds of Choas works better with him, because you can soften up the unit you are going to charge before you hit them. Doombolt on a shooty/foot sloggin 1Ksons is not very useful in my opinion. Winds would probably do better especially against horde armies and when units get close. In the situation of a horde army you would probably be using the str of bolter fire over bolt of change shots. Personnaly I do not like Dreadnaughts. I think they are a waste of pts. I would consider adding a unit of screamer's. I always take at them. They would probably perform well in your army. At the least you could use them as a throw away unit to slow down a approaching unit. They are also very menuveral and you can some times go lightly armoured vehicle hunting with them.

My plan is to make thses guys my CC with some shooting. Hopefully they will arrive wreck something in shooting and then assault the next turn. Yeah that makes sense with the Daemonvessel. I will drop the thralls and Doombolt. I might combine the flamers to make 1 unit of 9 and free up the 23 points. Good thought also. Forgot about that d**n slow spawn.... Hmmm.... I think I will keep it for now. Or give him GoC. I bought the forgeworld dreadnought. He's gonna be in my army.. I also like them for some firepower. I have thought about these. Still trying to decide on them. They are nice though.

The Forgeworld Dready does look very cool. I used him for a long time, he kept getting sacked all the time. You did take the best combo for him with the 1Ksons. I used to swith between las/missle and las/powerclaw.

OK I redid it. I made some of the changes you guys recommended. I have to play it now to see how I like it. I made the termies 9 strong now and favored... Scary unit, but expensive. I also made the flamers one unit of 9. The Big Bird now has a better Power and I changed the one AC to have GoC and 3 Thralls.
It has 53 models, which I think is pretty good. 7 scoring units.

Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents: If you show up on the table with all your aspiring champions having thralls except for one, then you're condemning that unit to death first because your opponent is going to know where you have put your greater daemon.

hehe that and you have only 1 power weapon and the rest are fists in your squads.
I will say this, Thousand Sons are probably one of the more diffacult lists to play imo. Good Luck with it.
Just a little pet peeve about Thousand Son and powerfists...Ive never seen an illistration with a Sorcerer with a Powerfist, they always have power swords, staffs or axes. GW doesnt make Sorcerer with Power fists either....I always felts Sorcerers with power weapons are the fluff.

Power fists may not be the fluid elfy weapons that sorcerors are usually depicted with but d**nit, they are just better, especially in that sort of unit that otherwise lacks CC smack.

IW - I see what you are saying, but those units need some pop in close combat. I could give the Demonic Strength instead. Str 5 would do the job against most stuff.
Wolfy - Hopefully my opponent isn't as intelligent as you.... :-) Plus it keeps the focus off the other 2 squads are the greater threat as they get closer.
With a terminator unti that big, what are peoples experiences? Think they will make their points back?

With a terminator unit that big, what are peoples experiences? Think they will make their points back? There are several ways of looking at it... 1) One hell of alot of points for all in one unit, however getting them below half (10 wounds on a 2+/5+ save) is a difficult task. Your unit is the equivenlent of 9 oblits wound wise and we all know how hard they are to kill. Even with lascannons and assault cannons that is alot of firepower you have to dump on that squad. I think that the demolisher cannon is your only real enemy. 2)They will draw alot of fire away from Big Bird and friends, and if you ignore the termies and go after BB then you get the termies in combat, just as good. 3)As Jeff said, a squad with a teleport homer is a must if you plan on deepstriking, that is the only way I would think you could get them close enough to the fight without having to take a huge risk with scattering and losing them. 4)I have played large termie squads ( so has Freeman) and they can be good but seldom get their points in kills. What they do is draw attention from the rest of the army and help keep them alive. A huge benefit that you have is the two wound thing making your 9 man squad almost a good as two terminator squads that size. I like them, I think a nine man squad is very fluffy and would look great in the army.

...and one demolisher cannon shot still ruins your day.

Yep. The Demolisher cannon would in fact ruin my day, but I have not seen one those in many, many games. My thought is that 17 wounds with a 2+/5+ lives for a very long time. As you said Doug it keeps the enemy always thinking about that unit and draws fire.
I will have to try them and see how they work. If they don't work well i might bring them down to 5 and add another unit of flamers or screamers.
