Well, I haven't played Fantasy in years, but I know that movement is one of the most powerful things in the game, so if your magic 'only' affects movement, then it is still quite powerful. More so than just throwing fireballs.

You missed the other half of his comment. TK can't march like other armies can. The movemeant spells balance this shortcoming. Don't get me wrong. It can still be monumentally helpful.

Skyth hit the nail on the head about movement. It is what wins games in WHF. And since TK have the ability with 4 casters with movement spells, properly played WILL move units into opponent's flanks. You dont need to march when all you have to do is get in a flank zone and cast the same spell 6 times without fear of failure.
After seeing Doug's comments following his army list, I really just think you are just inexperienced with what your army actually has the power to do. While not "tourney tuned", that army certainly has the ability to own.

No. That's like saying Eldar are fragile, but taking a falcon can help. The movement spells help to counter the lack of march capability, but loading up on them significantly can be OTT. It's like the difference between 1 falcon and three.

Major SOB, if you ditch one scroll, the Icon of Rakaph, and either the cloak of the dunes (replace with steed) or collar you will gain 3 comp points for almost no lose in effectiveness. The extra scroll and Icon both give -1 comp (-2 total) and your magical item total is over 124 pts so that's another -1 comp. Also, better comp will, theoretically, give you "easier" matchups in the first round or two. You could pick up a unit of 3 carrion with the points saved for no comp hit (stupid 40mm base rule).

Major SoB, if I were to make one suggestion, it would be this: play what you like, and ignore the comp score. No matter what tournament you go to, everyone has a different opinion of what they do and do not like to see on the field, some people would ding you just for taking a Tomb King army.
If you want to get the most enjoyment out of the tournament, just play the game that you want to play and forget the score. With painting and comp both being completely subjective, worrying about them will just detract from your enjoyment of the game.
