I could also help out on thursdays, weekends wont work for me. Not sure if anyone has seen the Warbands rules from White Dwarf. They have them on the GW site: us.games-workshop.com/games/warhammer/gaming/warbands/scenarios/default.htmMight be interesting to run this, or just set the initial starting points high enough (500-1000) that you dont have to worry about the Warband restrictions and follow the regular army books. Got a whole army of Ogres that need paint on em.....

I think it might be good to do a start at 500 or 750 pts and add 250 pts a month as matt suggested. I think we could play on either day but thursday is best for me. If we do this then to go from 750 to 2k is a 6 month endeavor and that is a little long on the time commintment to be playing the rest of the year but I am in and have Ogres to paint. We could also play twice a month but have painting due only one time? Perhaps we should see what the total interest is in and decide this week who is in for this. I would be happy to run it but would gladly let someone else.
Thanks, Boldo

Heck, even I could probable meet the painting deadline! Pencil me in for my Ironskin Tribe Ogres.

Hows about this starts in June which gives a month for people to collect/paint 750 to whatever the starting amount is. I'm for it though I'm not sure what army I'd do

As I mentioned, I'm in. I also would like a little time to get the starting force together as I haven't even decided on an army yet. I think painting should be scored all at once at the end in a tourney type setting, but encouraged the rest of the time in some fashion as well. (ie, if it looks like the effort has at least been put in to meet the painting goal each battle, no problem/penalty, but if effort is not shown, problem)
Any armies that aren't done too often? I like doing the odd balls sometimes. I am leaning towards Dark Elves, but if something else pops oout at me I may chasnge my mind.

Nothing comes to mind as "under-represented" at the moment as many of us old-timers have multiple armies. Ones you are most likely to see at the store lately: High elves Dwarfs Empire Beastmen Tomb kings skaven Nurgle & Slaanesh daemon legions Bretonnians Orcs & goblins are the next book to be updated, and are one of the armies (night goblins) in the new 7th ed box set. On a side note, I'd recommend steering clear of the Storm of Chaos supplement lists. The book is now out of print, and most tournaments are excluding them- they arent very balanced.

I guess my inclination towards Dark Elves isn't a bad one then. I already play Goblins, so the new updates and rules aren't huge for me there.
Do we want to set a start date. Also maybe set out the rules/criteria for this whole thing. That way we can get the ball roling. As much as I'm willing to do this, I haven't sdone anything like it before as far as running it. Like I said, I'm willing to take a shot at it with someone to help, or I'd be willing to help someone else run the show.

I guess my inclination towards Dark Elves isn't a bad one then. I think Matt is the only one currently playing them. Make sure you get a copy the errata (Chronicles 04, probably GW site too) - it helps them along. In his post above, Boldo has offered to run this unless someone else really want to. I'm sure he would like help if asked. How about having 750pts ready to go thursday June 1st? By adding 250 a month, this would run until 2000 pts Dec 1st or 2250 Jan 1st. We can probalby finalize this thursday, not to mention draft a few more people who might not check this board.

I'm in. I will do a chaos army of some sorts - either mortals or deamons. I bought a bunch of the old Tzeench Horror models on E-bay to do the Tzeench Deamonic Legion. I'll make sure to be ready by June 1st. I can help our running it if you would like Alex.

So how about we start June 22 at 750 pts. This will give everyone a chance to get the initial force together. I have painted 30 minis before in a month and I think this is 250pts. So if we play July 20, August 24, september 21, october 19, November 23, and December 14 that would take us to 2000pts. How does this sound to everyone?

Since a lot of Tournaments these days seem to be 2250, maybe we should take it one month further with the last one being a Full blown tournament. Just a thought.
June 22nd sounds fine. I should be able to have 750 ready (I hope) by then. We should also discuss money and prizes at some point.
