I have always been interested in playing a bloodbowl league. As far as I know, cant you get a whole team in one of those boxes? If so and if I can get $30.00, the Dark Elvish Patriots will be unleashed! Online would even be better cause its free... i think it is on fumbbl.

Generally a box set and a booster does the trick. Running a league is a lot of fun, but requires good record keeping by the players. The online game (a very nice java app) keeps a full record of the goings on and provides a nice end of game report. There are also several free tools for creating and maintaining an HTML version of your roster. Helpful Links: * Living Rulebook - free Offical online rules. Includes all team rosters* Javabowl online app - this page includes a link to roster creation toolsComments: * Never play a skaven team - they are total cheese. Just ask Norton * Dwarves kick ass and almost never fall down * Orcs hurt - alot! * Dark Elves are fast, agile, and mean * Goblins are sneakier than they look * Cheaters almost always win * It's called Blood Bowl for a reason - expect casualties!

I would do Dark Elfs because Aufar more manly than me and Steve told me it is a good army. I could have a chance at winning... but that would still be out of the picture.

I think you would do well at Blood Bowl. I have two teams, Dwarves and Dark Elves. Both are a lot of fun - if any team is too cheesy I would have to say Chaos but that might be sour grapes talking..
The most important thing to remember about blodd bowl is this: the more outrageous the play is, the more likely it will succeed - and if it fails it will fail horribly but you will probably laugh your a$$ off in the process.

I am going to play Dwarves or Chaos Dwarves if we decide to get something going. They look like fun.

I have an orc team.... or at least most of one. Are the "online" rules different than those that came with the box set? bought it about 4 years ago. Definitely would be interested in playing

The online rules are the most curent version - they call it the Living Rulebook becuase it keeps evolving. The basic ruels are the same, but they have added new teams, added and revised the skills and so on. Go download the version on line. There is also an errata document with a few more revisions - but i think it's just asummary of what was last changed.

I think it would be fun to do, but in the army builder files, it talks about salaries and all of these skills and stuff. Can someone explain this to me and if this will have anything to do with this league if it ends up happening?

Read the rulebook. If you can't dowload it from the link listed above, then sendme your email in a PM and I will send it to you. The book is less than 50 pages and explains everything.
You start with 1 million bucks to buy your team (that's what the salariesa re about). Most positions come with preset skills. During and after games, players earn Star Player Points (experience points) which you use to buy new skills with.
It's not that complicated - once you play a game, it will all make sense.

I fthis was to be done, it would probably be a good idea to run a few learning sessions for those who don't know how to play before starting a full blown league.

im going to have to call Bull SH!T on learning as you play:
Apparently you can cheat in this game and get away with it and its allowed. I didnt know this when I was "learning" apperently Tom was cheating the entire time without my knowledge. Totally turned me off from the game.
