This is still Ron's event unless he chooses to not be involved. If that happens, then someone else will take over running it.

I'm glad this is still going. I don't think I've ever been this motivated to paint. I really think this league is a great idea.

Alright folks less than a week to go, hope your all painted or close to it. See ya all at Boldos on Sunday at noon. We want to start by 12:30 at the lastest or close to it.
Boards will be 4x4 in size with decent amount of terrain and will probably have time for 4 games.
I will have some index cards where I need you to write your name and your army on it as well as collect your entry free. Through out the League you will be keeping track who you played and how many points you scored from them on these cards, which I will collect at the end of the day and post results later.
Missions and Deployment will be given before the first round on Sunday. Be prepared for anything and good luck players.

I believe at 800 points all restrictions come off meaning that all vehicles, 2+ save models and 3 plus wound characters become available. At this point you must follow a normal force org chart ( 1 HQ and 2 Troops minimum).

I will answer these questions here as they are appropiate in this thread.
2.) You can wait till the end to base all your models however if you are to elect to go this route you must atleast show that there is another color other than the primer on the base. Black and or white is not going to be acceptable. If your base is going to be black and white then the responsibility falls upon the player to show that they have done something other than just primed the base. I have to be fair to the players that have finished thier models on time each week and based them as well. If too much confusion arises as to what exactly is ment I can alliveate the confusion and just say your bases need to be done the day of each tournament day.
3.) They will weigh as much as the bigger games will. I dont see any need to alter the amount smaller games give in terms of points compared to bigger games.
4. Alex and Shaun both know I am running the escalation league on sundays, since the boards are only 4x4 there should be little worry for space available.
5. I will be there at 11:30am, if you want to come and help set up Doug and or Tom feel free to join me.
At 800 points all restrictions and force org requirements will return to normal.

uhm we have 18 players (possibly 19) right now, the store was cramped during the last tourney with 12.
for a couple weeks 4 ft tables will help things but you may want to concider this more of a problem later. I have a table only a block away if that helps.
Alternatly ron later you may want to schedule a bye week depending on space.
Either way i cant wait. The greater good will triumph.

This also means players not in the league will be unable to game at the Store on sundays. non-League players will have to find another location

no I don't But I know myself and some other players who are not in the league would still like to play Warhammer in the next 4 months. But with the league going on that means every other sunday(or every sunday if they have to split up due to room) there will be no room for league players, much less non-league players.

Again I would like to reiterate the issue that I have. My bases will have black edges on them when they are done. The level of detailing that I have planned for each base is more than a single week project ( including paint, preparation time, and drying time for some added effects ) so what is the solution that you have layed out? Can I paint my bases in a solid black color and be counted as "fully painted" each week or do we need to paint in some approved color? This does not make sence.

They will weigh as much as the bigger games will. I dont see any need to alter the amount smaller games give in terms of points compared to bigger games. The issue that I see is this. If you have more smaller ( 400 point ) games than you do the larger games it favors certain armies and builds. ( Example, four 400 point games week 1, three-ish 600 point games week 2, ....one 1800 point game week whatever...) Some armies play great at lower points while others do not. By having more lower points games and counting everything the same you have given certain armies an unfair advatage. You have asked me to consider your point of view while I organize Winter Assault, now please consider mine. Thanks.

Tom you are correct, I forgot that one of the rooms was not available for play, we may have to split it up on Sundays and do half on the first week and half on the second week. But as of right now for the first 2 weeks we should be ok. We may need to use your table at home too, later on.
Doug:
We will be essentaillly following the same format as last years Escalation League. At least 3 rounds per tournament Day, 4 for the smaller points like 400,600 possibly 800. Using this format this will give 400-800pts 12 games with a possible 24 points to earn. 1000-2000 (normal points) will give you 24 games with a possible 48 points to earn. That would suggest, it would be favoring higher points and not lower point games. I personally dont think it favors either and makes a player think about thier strategies from 400 to 2000 points.
If it favors one army at low points then it favors another at higher points. These are of course opinions and mine is that I dont see how it favors any army in particular through out the over all tournament. Also this has no effect nor is effected by any descions, disccusions or opinion from or about winter assualt. This is a completely seperate event.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:Scoring was quoted wrong, 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss. My apologies.
