Is the league still only every other week?
Also what about players not in the league, will there be room for them to play on Sundays?

It hasnt been finalized but we may need to split it up for some people where half plays on the first week and then the other half plays on the second week. So essentually it will be every week, since we have so many players and limited space. Nothing has been finalized yet.
Dont know if there will be room or not atm, sorry.

It's a good question and it's one that needs addressing.
Unfortunately I am sure that preference will be given to league players but there should also be room for casual games as well since these people buy product and also support the store. I do not know the solution nor am I in a position to propose one.
Will splitting up and playing every week also create issues with points values and when a player has to have all there army done to a certain point level?

Having to play every week is a real issue for me.
I realy want to play in this, but real life takes precedence on kid weekends.
I only ask that this is figured out before I chip in though as missing half the games is missing the point of the league IMO.

I think what Ron meant was that one half of the players play one week, and then the other play the next, so essentially it'll still be somewhat like every two weeks, but with the space, not everyone is going to be able to play that particular week. So it shouldn't be too much of a problem for you Steve, you'll still be able to play every other week. The only thing I can see is if the round pairings might get to be somewhat annoying...like if someone can play one week but your opponent can only play the other...but I'm sure we'll be able to work this out... Though I'm not sure I'm liking the sound of all this less then a week before this league starts......

Just an idea, but since there is so much interest, maybe we should just split it into two seperate leagues, meeting on alternating Sundays. Sure, the pay-out will be less, but more people will stand a chance. At 18 people overall, it would still be $60 for first and $30 for second in each category.
Or, alternatively, make it brackets, working the same way. Bracket 1 meets on the first and third sunday, while bracket two meets on 2nd and 4th sunday. Top two from each category for each bracket would then compete for the finals.
Or something like this.

if the league is every week or they are splitting it up so half the players play one week and half the players play another week, that still ends up being league players using what little room there is for the league and leaving no room in the store for non-league players. So your either in the league, or your out all together. Guess I will see you all in January when the store opens back up for casual gaming

You could always come to Coyote's Den and play! ;D ;D I definitely like the idea of two leagues...ya, less payout, but it's not about the pay, it's about the play! Or the painting...moreso the painting...stfu Just my two cents...

hey just some quick opinions
running it every week in every capacity is a bad idea. This could be a pain to people who can only schedule certain weeks. It really does add double tha administrative work. That andNon leaguers should have a place to come and play/paint/ hang.
That being said like any store club event non participants can be expected to have weeks where tables are not available. I personally would give non leaguers first dibbs on the "other weeks" but have no problem saying that store / club events trump. But to be fair non leaguers are DaBOYZ too and can expect a place to play a couple times a month.
My opinion on the bases doug, if the end product will be black or white than just be sure to prime them that. If the end product is desert brown than dont have black primed bases the whole time through.
who from the current players gets favoring at low points?

Hate to say it but Dragon is actually right on this one!
I will go a step further and offer to open early on league weeks (9-10am if its OK with Shaun and Alex) to get some early, middle and late games in so that we will all play on the same sunday.
________________
Back to the scoring. At the risk of starting an argument I am kind of insulted you want me to sit here and name what armies work better at low points and what work better in big points. Tommy, you have been playing this game a while ( much longer than I have) you honestly cannot see how some armies are better in low points? Hmm, let's see anything that has dirt cheap troops seems to be pretty darn good. You could flood the board with orks for example or have a small handful of marines in 400 points. I bet the orks win! The way it stand is that 1/3 of the battle points will be decided before some players can add in their HQ choices. Again, not to single out anyone but I have played my son enough times to see that deamons are pretty rock solid in low points since their troops are dirt cheap, mobile and have some pretty darn good abilities. I sure hope no one is playing bloodletters in low points since they all have power weapons in assault. I think that could be pretty darn good, what do you think? BTW the two armies listed ( orks and deamons ) also remain pretty good at high point values as well. Guard, marines, grey knights, eldar, etc have to wait until they are allowed the privilege of higher points to catch up with tougher vehicles and specialized HQ and elites to counterbalance some armies powerful basic troops.
I am not looking to make this a full blown argument or a flame war, nor am I trying to metagame either. I do not mean to single out or pick on anyone either. I have thought this through and realized that in my opinion some armies will be favored under the current set up.

We are probably looking at working with a bye week for players where everyone gets one bye and everyone ends up playing the same amount of games. This hasnt been finalized but its in the works. So we will remain on the every 2 weeks schedule (as best as we can).
As for space, I agree with Tom, Boldos has always been open to the public but if you happen to come in to a setting where a tournament is going on and space is limited or non exisistant then its an unfortunate circumstance, but it does happen. But this shouldnt be a concern as I will try to limit the time and space taken up by the event as some concerns were voiced.
However, I did approach the owners of Boldos and asked permission to use thier space and time, all prizes is in the form of Boldos Credit so it could be looked at as the space has been rented for those days. Im sorry if this conflicts with anyone playing times but this has been in the works and planned on for several months before hand. We will try to accomidate others but as there is limited space its really out of my hands.
As for earlier times, I think its un-nessasery, also personally I dont want to spend 9 hours at the store running a tournament and lossing sleep every other weekend.
What points favors whom. Its all opinions. One person could say it favors marines with there stats and armor save and rapid fire guns something deamons lack. As a participnt last year with orks lower points didnt favor orks more so than higher points. I remember losing my first couple of games to Space marines and Emporers Children. At 16 points a bloodletter is more expensive than a Chaos Marine, not dirt cheap, lacks a range weapon and must stand in the open for 1 turn and get shot before it can assualt. My opinion is some deamons armies have a more diffacult time with this than others. I really see no need to alter the scoring at lower points. If these armies that do well at lower points then they must do poor at higher points as thier "counters" come into play. They should then see a decrease in thier win/loss ratio. Thus making a bell curve comparison and in the end the 1/3 comparison you made should even out and the ones that win 2/3 will come out on top. But enough with math hammer and just play the game.

1) Dragon is never right 2) starting the league earlier in the day might be a good idea 3) pretty sure orks didn't do so hot week 1 last time we did this 4) All armies will have to wait for tougher vehicles and specialized HQ choices 5) Space marines are historically one of the best low point armies because they are one of the few that can do anything. 6) I don't really see what the big problem is, this worked out well last time we did it. Is it really worth complaining about this time? 7) If I recall we dropped to 2 games later in the league because more points just take longer. edit:
