OK here are my ideas for the next Apocalypse game:
1) I will be running it. I am looking at a mid January weekend sometime after the holidays but before DaBoyz GT/Running GAGG. 2) I would like to have a chaos theme. For armies I would like either Chaos versus Chaos, ( Khorne and Nurgle versus Slaanesh, Tzeench, and Undivided ) with themed deamon armies helping out each side, or a Chaos versus Marine battle if their are not enough Chaos players and armies available. 3) I would like to keep this to 10 players. Probably 2500pts per player. 4) I want fully painted armies. We are talking about an event 4 months away, this shouldn't be a problem. 5) I also am thinking that the objectives might be special and different. I am referring to the missions in the back of the Apocalypse book.
I would like to have input as to what others have in mind. I am picturing a massive battle with two sides of wonderfully painted models. What are your thoughts?

1) I will be running it. Sweet! I am looking at a mid January weekend sometime after the holidays but before DaBoyz GT/Running GAGG. Sweeter, plenty of painting time2) I would like to have a chaos theme. For armies I would like either Chaos versus Chaos, ( Khorne and Nurgle versus Slaanesh, Tzeench, and Undivided ) with themed deamon armies helping out each side, or a Chaos versus Marine battle if their are not enough Chaos players and armies available. With the new marine codex, its time Chaos and loyalist threw down!3) I would like to keep this to 10 players. Probably 2500pts per player. 3000-3500 maybe? Would allow some nice units and formations4) I want fully painted armies. We are talking about an event 4 months away, this shouldn't be a problem. The painting escalation league should solve this.5) I also am thinking that the objectives might be special and different. I am referring to the missions in the back of the Apocalypse book. If Loyalist and Chaos a cool Chaos strike on a Space Marine planet? or some nifty themed game would be coolI would like to have input as to what others have in mind. I am picturing a massive battle with two sides of wonderfully painted models. What are your thoughts? I like where this is going Custom Data sheets? Yes or No? GW data sheets only? My reputation for creating overpowered under-priced, exploitive data sheets has spread all the way to the Texas panhandle

I'd be up for Chaos vs Imperials if you can't find enough Chaos players. With the escalation league, I'll have a fully painted Space wolf army ready to go, and if all goes well, I'll probably have a scratch built Baneblade together and painted, ready to go. Plus the wolves will be the new hotness, and I should be proficient with the new dex by then!
I'd also vote for GW or IA datasheets only. We all know what kind of cheese Brian likes to dream up. ;D Seriously, there will be less bickering that way, though.

Only current online data sheets will be allowed, sorry. I have seen far too much debate wasted on point cost and options for well intentioned custom sheets. I will not let this happen again, so as much as I liked the idea of the four horsemen, etc I will have to say no in this game.
As for points I am good at 2500. I am looking for 2500 points of well painted minis, not 3500 points of bare metal and plastic. Once sides are determined I have no issue with one player fielding some of his/her team mates points if there is a formation that he or she wants to do. If opposing players agree, I also may allow opposite players to both go up to 3000 or 3500 points if there is another player on the opposite team also agrees to do so.

I think chaos vs. chaos would be kinda boring..
I like the idea of chaos vs. loyalist marines. Gives us the chance to see all the new loyalist units in action.
I also was thinking along the lines of the chaos marines have some sort of powerful artifact that all the other races also want for their own reasons(maybe chaos vs. mixed or something like that).
Maybe chaos vs. orks, if given enough notice im sure orville and i will have ours done, plus ron has his and i know their are a few others.
Just brainstorming.

Sounds good Terry, and you are correct we are just brainstorming. Personally I would love to see a huge battle versus Orks at some point but I dont have hope that 5 ork armies will be ready for the challenge by January.
Although I would like to see flavored chaos fighting each other I am leaning toward imperials versus chaos. Maybe there will be some sort of deployment where each faction comes in at a different angle or side? Thoughts?

Could also go the other route of having the Imperials on the offensive, trying to reclaim a chaos world.
I am throwing my interest in as well. Fighting for the Imperium of course since my chaos is woefully unlikely to be painted.

Could also go the other route of having the Imperials on the offensive, trying to reclaim a chaos world. A chaos renegade strike force has sacked an imperial outpost or colony. Slaughtering the locals and stripping the area bare of resources, the last few survivors were able to send a distress signal. Picked up by a nearby Imperial ship the space marines react to contain the Chaos threat. When they learn that a certain Chaos Warlord is leading the strike (Abaddon or someone's special Chaos lord etc..) they call in extra chapters to strike swiftly in hopes of finally catching the renegade Chaos General..... Will the Loyalists be able to stop the Chaos force in time to save the last survivors? is the death of the Chaos Warlord worth the sacrifice of the colony? Will the Chaos lord once again slip through the defense of the Loyalist forces and flee back to the warp? Tune in next time!

We could do the plus sign shaped board like was mentioned in a previous thread maybe... The forces of chaos have dug in to defend some kind of sacrificial blood pit or altar in a last ditch effort to bring forth the <insert apocalyptic baddie here>. They have been surrounded by the Imperials and are desperate to secure the final artifacts needed to complete their ritual before the Imperials break their defenses.... The sometimes feuding forces of the Imperials (to allow for Space Wolves and Dark Angels on the same side) have banded together to thwart them and put an end to Abbadon (or whoever) once and for all. What do you guys think? Oh and... I am picturing a massive battle with two sides of wonderfully painted models. I'll have them fully painted to the best of my ability, but wonderful may not be the words you're looking for!
