IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA FOR DUCKBOY40K (aka BOBBY), CATACHAN COLONEL (TOM) & MAJOR SOB (DOUG) TO SET UP A SCORING SYSTEM FOR SUNDAYS TOURNAMENT, GROUND RULES OR WHAT EVER. WE DON'T NEED CHAOS, WE HAVE ENOUGH CHAOS PLAYERS. ;D I RECOMMEND THAT THIS IS DONE THROUGH PRIVATE MESSAGES. THE SHARKS HAVE PLENTY OF MEAT TO FEED ON ALL READY. ;D SORRY TO IMPOSE ON YOU GUYS, IF I OVER STEPPED MY BOUNDS, PLEASE RECOMMEND SOMEONE ELSE THROUGH PRIVATE MESSAGES TO HELP DUCKBOY40K. PUFF OUT! ;D

MIKE, I WAS SERIOUS, DICE ROLLS COUNT IN THE BOX. IW - I think this is the answer... Sniper seemed to have a similar answer about denting the foam, so I am going with the fact that we have to roll in a box.

1) YES, YOU ROLL DICE IN BOXES. 2) I WILL BRING DIFFERENT BOXES, (NOT DICE ROLL BOXES) TO BOLDO'S TONIGHT TO HOLD YOUR ARMIES IN (FOR TRANSPORTING FROM TABLE TO TABLE). 3) YOU CAN USE THEM IF YOU LIKE, OR WHAT EVER METHOD YOU'RE USED TO. 4) RON, WHEN WE PLAY TONIGHT, YOU WILL NOTICE ALL MY MODELS START IN THE BOX. 5) ANY BOX YOU CAN FIND AT THE COYOTE'S DEN IS GOOD ENOUGH TO ROLL DICE IN. 6) DICE ROLL BOXES ARE SUPPLIED, or YOU CAN USE THE ONES I'M BRING TONIGHT AS AN OPTION, BUT THEY'RE A LITTLE BIG. 7) THIS IS THE SMALLEST PROBLEM YOU COULD EVER HAVE. PLEASE END THE BOX CONVERSATION, WE HAVE REAL ISSUES. THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE, I THINK WE GOT IT COVERED THIS TIME. ;D ;D ;D

As for setting up new scoring with Tom and Bobby, I have no problem helping, however I feel personally that it is the Coyote's Den tourney and I will be happy to play by whatever house rules you normally play by, you know when in Rome....
If my help is needed please contact me Duckboy and CC, but if not we all will be happy to use the "standard" Coyote's Den tourney format.

I personally like the scoring system Bobby (the guy who runs the tournament) and Patrick (the guy who always wins) made for the tournament Here is how it (currently) works: -There are two piles of objective cards for both players, one is yellow the other is green (it doesn’t matter which pile you get there the same )
-You choose your Primary objective by randomly drawing a card from one of the piles and the other player chooses his primary objective from the other pile. WHAT YOU GET IS WHAT YOU GET
-Then you randomly choose your two secondary objective cards from the OPPOSITE color you got your Primary from. If you do not like ONE of your secondary then you can put it back and randomly choose another but you MUST keep the next one you pick.
-You have to show your opponent your Primary and ONE Secondary, the other secondary you keep hidden so that your opponent doesn’t know what you’re up to.
Primary Missions are worth 3 objective points Secondary are worth 2 objective points You can earn up to 7 objective points each game Whoever has the most objective points wins
The scoring system that is used to determine who wins works like this:
Who has the most Objective points then who has the most wins/loss record then as a tie breaker who has the most victory points (this is were wiping out your opponents army comes in)
:)I hope this clears some things up

Sounds fun and defintely something we haven't seen before. Dragon, I see no reason to rework the scoring, this looks like a fair and random way to determine winners.

I think that looks awesome personally. Very different, and quite enjoyable. I would like to see some soft competitions in the future (painting/comp), but that's me. I tend to go to tourneis to pit my painting against other painting. It's not the only reason, but it is a big reason.

i also would like to see a soft score for painting and comp.
I will try to come up with a restrictive comp sheet tonight and post it. (it will have details on my thoughts annotated after)

No dammit! No soft scores! I want to play my orks and I doubt they will be fully painted by then. IF your gonna make soft score I will have to fall back to my IW which I dont want to do, but if forced I will.
Yes thats a threat! Biotchs!!

Players start with 20 points of Comp and lose 1 pt for each checked
.1 HQ, Heavy, Elite or Fast attack outnumber or equal troop choices. .2 More than half the weapons in the army that ignore armor saves have strength enhancers. (as part of weapon or additional wargear) .3 Vehicles with total front side and rear armor 34 or more are over half the vehicles taken. .4 More than half the army selections deep strike, infiltrate or are summoned. .5 Count of all guns with strength over 5. If more than half are AP1 or 2 or Have the rending Specail rule. .6 Army takes any unit over twice. (Except troops) .7 All Independent Characters or Monstrous creatures have invulnerable saves. .8 more than 1 independent character has speed enhancing war gear or abilities. .9 More than 10% of points spent on wargear weapons and upgrades of independent characters and/or monstrous creatures. .10 Troops are less than 40% of the armies points. .11 No compulsory troops are at maximum allowable size for the unit. (Regardless of vehicles or marks or other reasons) .12 Army does not include commonly accepted specialty units of the list. (Example baal predators in a blood angel army. Only units that one pays for count on this.) .13 One of each troop type allowed to the army are included. (all different choices if your army has more than 6 troop options) .14 More than one Ordinance barrage. .15 No retinue Choices for Independent Characters / Monstrous Creatures.(Armies without a option for these .16 Army does not have clear unit designations so that the opponent can easily tell one unit from the next. .17 Army did not take at least one choice from each part of the force organization chart. .18 Army list presented is not in a well written and easy to understand format. .19 Every squad that can have one has a character upgrade. (No, not all sergeants are veteran Sergeants) .20 In the judges opinion this list took inappropriate choices, attempted to exploit some rule or another or in some way should be dinged. (there should be a good reason past "its a necron list")
.21 Army list contains errors. (And these errors WILL BE FIXED) this is a penalty of 4 pts. Dont hand in faulty lists.
No it will not be easy to get a perfect score under this system. Yes to get a perfect score you may have to use options you dont like or not use options you do like. I think this stresses variety, balance of power, and a good time for your opponent. I do not believe this is too harsh to any specialty army or invalidates any army/codex (Meaning you can still make a list out of the stuff you are allowed) I think most parts of abusive/and non abusive power gaming are considered.

COLONEL CATACHAN: I'M PLAYING ARMORED COMPANY, I START OUT WITH 20 points AND END UP WITH -30 points. I HAVE NO PAINTING AT ALL, NO PRIMER (WHICH IS A COLOR) AND SANDED BODY PUTTY ALL OVER (WHICH IS GREEN). SO, I GET A ZERO FOR PAINTING, WELL THATS BETTER THAN -10. "SEE RON, I TOLD YOU WE WOULD PLAY IN THE FINAL ROUND, FOR LAST PLACE" ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;DI REPRESENT THE TURN 40K PLAY ;D ;D ;D

not sure how one ends up with -30
the lowest you can get is -4
and Armored company are optional army on opponents discretion, they are not tournament legal anyway. Any opponent can just say no thanks and you lose.
But why not post your list and we can see how you actually would do on this chart.

There will be 7 or 8 of us coming in from Syracuse. Please don't change the format. Most of us have already built our lists.
