Okay it seems that there is some misunderstanding about the DA Boyz GT. It is at Simcon March 27-29. It will be a two day event. I think Jay is running this? Now it is getting late is this really happening. We need to finalize points, rounds, scoring, prizes, and rules. Is this something we are willing to do in the next 2 weeks? We need to get all the details finalized by the end of the month. Boldo

Ok, time to finalize the election. Please indicate if you are interested in being the "head organizer" in running this. I believe Jay and John Adams are still on the list. Anyone else, please indicate your desire here by 11/20. We will set up a vote on 11/21.

Nominations:
I hereby nominate the following for office-
Jay Woodthingy- Rochester Representative and Head Organizer John Adams- Syracuse Representative "To be determined"- Buffalo Representative ( Maybe Ben can suggest his friend?)
Shaun Kemp- Treasurer- In charge of ALL money taken in and paid out. ( Finances is this man's undisputed calling I believe we all can agree.)
Chris Courtney- Prize Coordinator- In charge of all trophies and prize support.
Random thoughts
- I believe any of the people who enjoy wearing DaBoyz shirts and associating their name with the one of the club should be willing and able to help. I believe this should include but is not limited to providing help moving terrain and boards, building and setting up terrain and boards, as well as anything else asked by the event organizers. You wear the shirts so own up to your responsibilty. - I believe this is a 40K event yes? Therefor I think it should be run exclusively by 40K players. No offense to anyone who plays the lesser game but this is our event, yours is the one you ganked away from us at GAGG. Your run yours, we will run ours. - I believe helpful suggestions can be generated by all of us but in the end we should allow the people running the event the final say in how things are run. Tommy did a wonderful job last year and I am sure he can agree that it is very difficult to please everyone when there are so many opinions. I think it is best to express your opinion on how an event should be run but then stand back and let the people in charge do what they think will work. - I believe that this event should be included in the GT circuit. We have proven twice that we are capable of running a quality event in the style of any GW sponsored GT. I think if we act now we should be able to be included in the 2009 circuit. - I am wiling to help out however I can. I will have 4 complete boards ( two city, one desert, one snow) for use as well as terrain to complete at least two other boards. I may be able to donate models and am willing to donate time painting etc to help out. - I believe this is a fun and worthwhile event. Let's all pull together and do our best!

Well said Doug and I second your nominations for the Rochester organizers. I don't know John or any Buffalo 40k players so I will defer to the other DaBoyz for their opinions.
I am willing to help wherever is needed as well. I have a vehicle that can transport boards, tables or terrain. Just let me know what is needed.

I have a City board with city terrain that will be ready for use in the GT. I also will help again to move boards and terrain back and forth. I can also offer my painting and converting skills for a trophy if needed. feel free to PM or Call me with any tasks.

I'm more than willing to help with anything you guys need me to; just tell me what you'll need me to do. I'm sure I can try to help out as much as I did last year (kudos to Doug for giving me shelter and Shaun for introducing me to y'all).

I've e-mailed the buffalo friends to see if they are interested in participating. I'll let you know if I hear anything, but they've posted before so I figure they'll post as need be.

Hey folks,
I'm one of "Ben's friends" that was referenced in an earlier post (I was at the last GT at Geneseo). I would be willing to help, but I'm not exactly sure what I can do way out here in Western New York. Well, other than to bring some proper chicken wings with me...
Aside from that, I do have some questions:
1.) Is this the same GT that was run at Geneseo in January of 2008? 2.) If this is going to be part of GW's GT series, will the gaming be as light-hearted, fun, and geared toward well-balanced armies as the one at Geneseo or will it be a much more serious (read that as "win-oriented") GT? 3.) What exactly do you folks need done for this sort of thing? In other words, what would you need me to do? 4.) Since you folks saw fit to award me the "Best Opponent" award at Geneseo, I've been working on a new army for the 2009 event. Perhaps foolishly, I made the assumption that it would be a 2150pt event and have been building toward that (including an almost finished base for the army). May I put in a "vote," or strong recommendation for a point total?
I just wanted to close by saying the event at Geneseo was the best and most fun tournament I have ever played in. I truly enjoyed the camaraderie and fair-mindedness I experienced there. It was quite refreshing not to run into the "win at any cost" attitude that I found at previous tournaments.
Whatever you need, let me know. I'll do my best to help out!
Thanks!

In reviewing my post, I may have been a bit to forward and pushy. I apologize for that. I'm more than willing to hit the couple of gaming/hobby stores locally that support 40k and see if any of the players would be interested in your GT.
Again, I'm more than willing to help out in whatever way I can!

This my opinion 1) Late start already, you need to harness the Xmas & after Xmas markets so people will spend money on 40k & Warhammer products.
2) Start networking, (that means tell every player you know and have them do the same).
3) THIS IS THE TOPIC THAT GETS THE ARGUMENT, BUT IF YOU WANT A BIGGER TOURNEY JUST LISTEN:
CHANGE THE NAME TO:
EASTERN NEW YORK WARHAMMER & 40K CHAMPIONSHIPS
Sponsored by: Boldo's Armory, DaBoyz Gamer Club, Rochester, Buffalo & Syracuse Gamers, Buffalo What Knots & Syracuse Orange What Knots, (What ever clubs they may be).
YOU NEED A TITLE THAT IS REPRESENTATIVE OF THE RESULT.
4) DaBoyz ? you don't even know or can you list who or who isn't a member!
5) Daboyz website which belongs to the "ORKS" is larger and older than this one, ala conflict.
The fact of the mater is, this is all true and should be resolved before you all start jumping through hoops like a bunch of circus dogs.
OUT OF TIME, CIAO!
