OMG. It will take us months to iron out all those rules. I saw some that were suspect.

Hehe, agreed Sainguinary...I figured since they already hate Tom he would just go and post our objections over there for us. No sense in anyone else being hated on. ;D

These primarily come from the dakkadakka GW, FAQ this thread. There isn't a clear answer for them. We want them resolved before we play. If we play "house rules" variants of rules then it has to be explicit. Things like the range of rapid fire casualties, fear of the darkness impacting troops in transports, etc. If you have other can of worms questions feel free to post them to that thread. Universally we can agree to game design being poop on GW's part. If their development team consisted of more then Gav saying "Ay mate, Ah like blood ayngels, so give em a wicked googlie of an assault cannon." Then maybe we'd have answers to questions that matter.

Many (ok some) of these are answered by looking up the wargear or weapon profile in the new wargear book.
Lots of wargear was rewritten with 4th edition changes. Additionally it gives a 1 stop resource on weapon characheristics to all codexes from black templar and previous.
Examples of issues covered are sniper rifle pinning, teleport homer variants, what does a custom force field do... Oddly there are still two diffrent bionics but it says who uses what.
I know that does not solve everything but it should take a few off the list.

Wargear book has issues though. I WON'T play marines in terminator armor having a 3+/5+ save. Please do post what the wargear says in regards to the questions in the thread though.

Hey, at least unlike the UK GT finals no one in our area brings a 1400 point seer council. 64 model seer council is in one of the battle reports of it up on dakka.

I think that's an army I'd want to point and laugh at then pack my models up and play against someone who isn't looking to play solitare.

Glad you agree. Tripp, this army typifies what we don't like about the game, gimmic armies that may be fluffy but are put together to exploit a rule glitch and crush opponenets. The fact GW doesn't address such glitches is one reason many people don't like 40K. We strive to play solid but fair armies around here, since no one likes to have the game decided before the first dice is rolled. I should carry a set of cards in my cases, since solitare would be a good way of occupying time if this army was the other alternative. Besides, I am sure GW will address this in the "new and improved" Eldar codex due out in the end of 2006...or 2007...or whenever they get their act together.

Now that I think of it, Eldar don't need a new codex, neither do Orks, what we really need is a new Marine codex since assault cannons and rending are too d**n weak....
