OK, YOUR BLOOD ANGEL PLAY GETS THE FLU, WHO TAKES HIS PLACE? TRUE MOST PEOPLE HAVE MULTIPLE ARMIES BUT MAY HAVE ALREADY QUALIFIED TO PLAY WITH ONE OF THEM, SO USE A BACK UP PLAYER.
KIND A LIKE: 12 JURORS IN COURT WITH 2 ALTERNATES.

At the risk of getting off topic, SHUT THE HELL UP CRAIG!!!!!! You have no idea what you are talking about. The more I read your post, the more Brian's actually make sence. That being said... ...moving on... I was at the store today and they said that they usually cap their tournaments at 24 people. I have not been to a tourney at the GW store, so I did not know that they had that much capacity. They probably have enough capacity so that everyone that wants to can attend (do we have definite numbers yet?) It's good to know that there will be an acceptable level of variety if painting and comp factor in as originally planned. 5thStreet's post had me assuming that we'd end up with more than half a dozen flavors of loyalist marines on one team. As that's not the actually the case, I'm quite contented with the arrangement.

Again Craig thanks for the input but the agreed upon intent of this tourney is...
A) An all out competition between their best players and our best. B) Good, solid armies without cheesy gimics. C) Painting to be included since many of DaBoyz are just as proud of their painting skills as they are their tactical skills. D) Variety, this is not intended to be MarineFest '06. If you read their boards and ours we all agree that playing marine after marine army does get old. E) Fun, this whole thing is supposed to be fun. Alot of members here and at Syracuse are looking forward to player each other.
I know everyone involved wants to do their best and win, but fun should always be the goal. The discussion that has happened here comes mainly from everyone voicing their concern that they will be playing on a level playing field. This should be a good time for all, and we will learn from this event and better know what to expect next year (hopefully).

Just heard back from FarseerPrince and he is getting the ball moving on his end. He asked about dates, and format so here was my response...
FarseerPrince,
Glad things are progressing. My thoughts are as follows...
1) We are planning a playoff to send the best players. I think having 7-10 players per side is ideal. This was proposed as a best of the best tourney and I see nothing wrong with making it such.
2) Many of DaBoyz have expressed a desire to see a wide variety of armies, with one of each race represented. No one is interested in MarineHammer. The way I am working it on my end is to have 1 Orc, 1 Nid, 1 Tau, 1 Eldar, 1 Inquisition, 1 Chaos, 1 Imperial, then any remaining spots filled with overflow (free) armies. I think this would be best, do you agree?
3) Sometime near the end of May should be good, that way most college kids are done with finals, plus that gives a few solid months to paint and prepare.
Again we are looking forward to this challenge, it should be fun!!!

Syracuse vs daboyz march 18th! The store formerly known as Altered States(now HYPTG) is running a 1350 point tourney and you all can see if you've the right stuff to roll with team double deuce(syracuse). No comp/painting/sportsmanship/fluff/rubrics, just make sure all models are primed, assembled, and wysiwyg. Bring your dirtiest, most vile and vicious armies for a knock down, drag out fight for who's da baddest, who's da meanest, who's da prettiest, who's da shogun of harlem. Sho'nuff. As on their website, it starts at 11 am, costs 10 bucks, all missions alpha so your armies need to move if you want to win.
A good way to discuss in person thoughts on the real tourney in a flippant and goofy environment since if you are taking 1350 seriously you belong on the short bus. Maybe use brian as your bar, that if you place worse then him at this you shouldn't be on DABOYZ team when they roll up on the double deuce in the epic showdown.

Tripp, Brian can bring a real mean beatstick of an army in 1350pts with no comp/rubric, etc, and BTW, he will be there along with me. It should be fun! Any chance you could post directions/an address for Altered States?

Directions to TSFKAAS (the store formerly known as Altered States) * I90 to the 690 exit * Route 690 East to Bear Street exit * Continue straight off exit on Bear St. * Turn right at fourth traffic light, Solar St. * Turn left at second traffic light, Spencer St. * Turn right at next street, North Clinton St. * Spaghetti Warehouse & Altered States on the right hand side
Address: 689 North Clinton Street, Syracuse NY 13204 When they say 11, they are actually pretty darn strict about it, it's not like GW where they say 11 so it begins at 12:45

March 18th? That's the weekend before Purim, I can't believe they would schedule an event on a weekend before a holy day, are they intentionally trying to prevent us jews from showing up to these things?
You don't see me planning tournements on Christmas, I'm just saying perhaps these people need to be more considerate of other groups then thier own.

Weekend before Purim is a problem? How comprehensive are your celebrations? Doing more then making the hat shaped cookies and the stocking the alcohol to make you forget the difference between Haman and Mordecai?
edited purim is March 13-15th this year

Meh,
If somebody hadn't told me that Jesus died so Coca-cola could reincarnate Walt Disney's soul into a santa claus shaped golem made out of sacred hindu cows while fellating the buddha then i wouldnt know anything at all about religion.
Not to mention, i'm not big on the little hats anyways.

Screw you Norton, you are a hypocrite!!! Remeber that last tourney you scheduled at Kwanza, that really screwed up my celebrations, just like the time you had that painting contest during Ramadan.....
