I'll reload and continue my fire to keep Drake covered as he falls back, picking my shots to conserve ammo.

after breaking free from the crowd and seeing that path ahead of me is guarded by an itchy trigger finger machine gun nest, I try to use the back paths thru the house as cover trying to see if Drake still needs a hand with those explosives. On the way I check my comm unit to see if they're up and running yet or if the jammer is still in effect. If I can get a message out, I say this: "Alpha lead(captain foser) this is echo3(me!), under heavy fire from a gun emplacement in southern most portion of town, point charlie 6. Going to see if I can meet back up echo6(Drake), and assist the demolitions disarmerment. I hope he was smart enough to take the explosives after they've been disarmed. we could use them at the gun emplacements! echo3 out!" I first check my mags and ammo, loading the fresh clip into my M4 and load a fresh clip into the Lasgun. While moving thru the back alley way houses, I keep my M4 leveled and do a move sweep checking corners and alleys before proceeding. I take as much time as I need to avoid being detected as I make my way back to the team.

I make my way to the center of town where the skull is talking; taking care to remain in cover. When in sight I call out, "We will hear your terms, but make no promices!"
Into my comm, "Wong, whose the leader of these natives, they should have some say in what happens to them... Find them and bring them to me as I'm going to need you to translate. ...everyone else keep your eyes open... if thier stalling for some reason, I wanna know about it!"

Noticing the comms are back up, open up comms again. "Magnus, they don't surrender. The fight and die to the last man. This has been every encounter we've had with them. They are most definitely up to something. Probably luring us out in the open. We should regroup and plan out where and how to meet to make this advantageous to us. That and I shouldn't be there. I can't promise I wouldn't gun down these bastards given the chance. You haven't seen what they've done to these people. It's beyond nature, beyond morals. Tien out." I continue my back back to the team. Once that's done, I ask Drake to recover the explosives. Are they conventional explosives or alien of us. We could take one back to analysis.

I check out Stukof to see if he is stable enough to walk. we need to get back with the others so we aren't picked off being separated. I help Stukof up to his feet and go find Kantor, assuming he's the closest teammate, staying in cover as much as possible and scouting for any sign of other activity.

Captain Foser you make your way together to the town center and take cover in the ruin of an imperial gun nest. "We will hear your terms, but make no promises!" you call out to the floating skull.
Private Tien Xhou Wong interrupts over the com line. “They don't surrender. The fight and die to the last man. This has been true every encounter we've had with them. Tien out."
Private Hagbard helps Lieutenant Stukof to his feet and they both climb the temple steps to the top of the tower where Private Kantor stands fun aimed at the skull floating out in the street. Private Kantor nods to the two joining him. “Its all quiet except that floating skull out there. Apparently it wants to surrender.”
Lieutenant Stukof weakly croaks “I think we should let it.”
The floating skull slowly floats its way toward Captain Foser stopping out in the open forty feet away. You hear the click and whir of mechanical pieces attached to the skull. “Sensors? or just the things that make it float?” you wonder. The skull speaks again in its synthetic soulless voice.
“By orders of Inquisitor Wright we offer the complete evacuation of the Emperor’s remaining personnel and the return of earth forces personnel Private’s Habib and Hatfield who are in our custody. This is contingent on the Emperor’s soldiers being allowed to remove the Emperor’s remaining equipment and supplies including all the Emperor’s equipment in both the village ware houses and the Village Keep. the Emperor’s personnel and equipment will be removed by air, by class seven drop ship.”
Private Magnus radios in, “That sounds good to me sir. We are not very ready for much more fighting and the locals are not going to charge the machine guns again. Even if its not so good perhaps we can intercept the lot of them in the air when they are not looking.”
Private Kantor radios in, “Ready either way sir. We can crack open that keep if needs be.”
Sergeant Drake you stop at the mine entrance to recheck the explosives that you disabled. They are to big and heavy to move each about the size of a large outdoor garbage can. It would take some work to rework the explosives to be usable again, The explosive itself is liquid and contained in a large transparent barrel. Its not something you recognize. You think its better not to transport them without special equipment.
Sergeant Drake you check your ammunition and think that you could be ready to storm the keep if need be but the news that they have team mates hostage makes you hesitant.

Thru the comm., "Anyone know what a class seven drop ship is?"
Speaking to the skull again. "The terms for an end to these immediate hositlites are acceptible, but I would add and remind you that removal of your emperor's supplies and equipment does not include any resourses that you have taken from these people or thier planet."

i know we have people in there and the likelyhood of them coming out of this unharmed is slim, but for my vote i say we crack open that keep and kill every last one of these bastards before they have a chance to get reinforcements.
they have been nothing but rutheless and underhanded with us.

The floating skull hovers in place a moment.
“It is agreed then. Complete evacuation of the village of personnel and the Emperor’s remaining equipment and supplies. Not to include supplies taken from the planet belonging to these people.” The skull floats off and back into the keep.”
Lieutenant Stukof radios in, “No shape to help out but, captain if you plan on taking them out before the drop ships get here then now is the time.”
All your radios receive a call from the USS Drake. “Attention ground team this is Captain Harris. An Imperial Cruiser has just appeared in orbit around this planet and has sent three smaller ships down toward your location. We are launching fighters now should we intercept or can you still handle things down there?”
In the background of your radio you hear the ringing of the red alert siren and the order to launch the USS Drake’s compliment of fighters.
Captain Foser ponders the situation and asks, “Anyone know what a class seven drop ship is?"
Private Magnus replies, “Its basically your standard imperial ultra light ship used to transport troops down the surface of a planet from space. Its lightly armed and sits about twenty men. It has some modest cargo space. Saw them a lot back during the attack on earth. We basically designed our space engines by reverse engineering some of their components.”
Sergeant Drake remarks starkly. “That’s sixty men in reinforcements captain! I say we crack open that keep and kill every last one of these bastards before they have a chance to get reinforcements.” Drake chambers a shell in his shotgun to emphasize his point.
There is another voice coming over the radio now. Its Private Hatfield. “Uhm hello sirs they have just returned all our equipment except our weapons and tell us that they are going to bring us out sirs.”

Into the comm. "Private Hatfield, once you and your fellows are clear from your release meet up at my postion."
"Captian Harris, we are currently in negotiations with the Imperials for a temporary stop to the hostilities, but I want a continued show of strength. Launch the figthers and have them escort the these drop ships. Once they land. have our fighters run fly-bys in case needed."
"The rest of you countine to keep close watch,... anyone have eyes on where that skull is going back too?"

Sergeant Drake gets out of his well covered position and follows the servo skull down the road toward the chapter keep. It floats around the corner but the Sergeant is stopped by Private magnus as he is about to round the corner.
“Machine gun nest up there has the rest of the road covered.” Private Magnus points up to a tower.
Sergeant Drake peeks around the corner to see the floating skull gently glide into the village keep.
Its only a few minutes later that you all can see and hear the sound of jets above you declining toward the village. Three dots become larger and larger as they descend from the sky straight at your position. It seems like only moments from crashing VTOL Jets truly flare up on the bottom of each of the drop ships. The bright jets temporarily blind you as they fight back the harsh powers of gravity to land their ships safely at three locations. One drop ship lands on the top of the village keep crushing some of its stome and mortar under tons of steel. A second lands in the middle of the town square, crushing the small wooden well as if it were made of twigs. The last drop ship lands just outside town somewhere near the bridge.
Private Magnus and Sergeant Drake report in before the dust can clear from the landings. “Heavy machine guns in the south tower are abandoning their position.”
Private Hagbard is the next to report from the front of the village temple. “The d**n drop is over fifty feet big. It takes up the whole village center. And something is getting out the back of the thing something big and mechanical don’t have a visual.”
Foser, Hagbard, Kantor, Tien Xhou Wong and Stukof can all hear it heavy foot steps along with the sliding sounds of possibly heavy hydraulic workings.
Captain Foser and Private Tien Xhou Wong are the first to see the things. From their positions near the village square. Two walking vehicles strait out of “Return of the Jedi” each with some sort of Gatling laser cannon connected to the side. Behind what you guess would be some sort of bulletproof glass you can see an imperial soldier piloting the walking monster. These two twelve feet tall walking tanks take up positions like sentinels blocking access to behind the drop ship and the warehouses behind them.
Captain Foser and Private Tien Xhou Wong you each retreat to a better position of cover inside the guard command post on the far side of the square all the while hearing more of these walking sentinels moving behind the dropship.

"Bloody hell! That was a little more than I was expecting" I mumble to no one in particulair.
Into the com, " I think we should start to moving the villagers back into the mines for thier protection in case this gets ugly if we are sure the explosives are dis-armed. Lets get them ready now. We'll move them once our air support arrives."
