I was thinking we should go back to having first of the month tournaments. I would alternate fantasy one month and 40k the next so that we are opposite millenium. Thus there would be a Rochester tournament in each game system each month. Are people interested and if so what would you like to see in tournaments in Rochester?

I'm all for it.
What days are you thinking of doing? Saturdays would be preferable for me.
How about scoring? This may come as a surprise, but I'm not a huge fan of comp. Easiest system I can think of off the top of my head is best gen (BP only), best painted, best sport, and best theme. No need to make a bunch of rubrics. 0 subjectivity, and something for everyone.

That sounds great. I'd be in favor of doing something a little different like team tournies or combat patrol style things. Something a bit off the beaten path.
If you decide to go with something more traditional, the biggest thing for me would be making sure the round times are sufficient. Either by reducing points or lengthening the rounds. At the Millennium tournies, it always feels rushed.

Yes it would be great if you brought back the first of the month tournements. I was actually going to talk to you about that next time I saw you and if you need help running the 40k side of it let me know. I would be willing to help out.
As for what I would like to see in the tournament. The same ole' Sportsmanship, Painting, Battle Points and Comp.

I was just thinking about this myself. My preference would be Sundays. Saturdays are just not good for me since I work then. I have things on Sundays too, but I can get out of it once in a while.

I was thinking of Sundays and as I do not play 40k I thought it would be good to ask others to volunteer to run them and then you can run the tournament you want. So comp, no comp, scenarios or not. What ever you like. I guess for the rest of the year it would be June, August, October and December for 40k and the other months would be fantasy.

Sundays are best for me also so I'd be in.
It would be nice to see something on the other end of the spectrum of the MG tournaments. Smaller or larger points games (1000/2500), non-comp, maybe teams would be cool.

We could do something we've done before. Winner of the tournament runs the next one. (Or at least comes up with the plan.) Someone would have to step up for the first month, but after that it is up to the winners to design what they want.
I'm in I think. Might not be able to pull off June, but the rest shouldn't be a problem.

Alex,
This is a great idea. Feel free to get me an events schedule when you get things hammered out so that I can post them in the store and on our site when it gets back up. Let me know if I can help out in any way.

I am looking for people to run these tournaments for June, August, October and December. If you sign up to run one then you get to set points and scoring. Several people mentioned they would run one of these and I was hoping we could get these signed up for and pointed.

Here I will start it off, I can run the June 6th one.
Points: 1500pts Missions: From the Rule book and to be determined before the round. Rounds: 3, 2 hour rounds. Time: Round 1 Starts at 11am -1pm, 1-2pm lunch, round 2 2-4pm and round 3 is 4-6pm
Scores: Battle points: Win/Tie/Loss 5/3/1 Sports: Good/average/bad 3/2/1 Comp: Good/bad 2/1
simple straight forward. Not up for discussion. See you there.
