Gotta love the personal attacks. You certainly present a good face for DaBoyz...What a representative and an ambassador you are to the gaming community...Dealing with that sort of attitude surely makes people want to flock to play this game and grow the hobby...
The red stick was a metaphor for the complaint about people wanting to use accurate dice. No one in their right mind would think someone who prefered to use a tape measure that measures accurately (as opposed to using the red sticks that measure short) was up to no good. Why the same issue with people who want to use dice that are actually give equal probabilities of rolling any number (unlike the cheap dice that come in the box and have been shown not to be accurate)?

Hey Carlos, thank you....WOW I suck, I did indeed think Ben was Netter. Thank you for clearing that up. Ben sorry about all the hateful posts, next beer is on me. Paint your d**n models, you are still partially guilty anyways cause you're a Canadian. Back to the dice. Please understand that I would never put you in the same category as Stelek, that is a hell reserved for only the most vile. Hey, I am a sarcastic ass, not just on the boards but in real life too. The reason I started this thread was to shed some light on this topic and help set up a contingency plan for the upcoming event. I used to attend a lot of events. I used to play in the Canadian GT every year when it was being run by Corey Burns. He did an outstanding job and I do miss that event. What I expected when I showed up was to have fun first of all and maybe win a few games. I got to see some great painted armies and got to meet some people that were really passionate about the hobby. This was back when GW supported events. Since the demise of the GT, I did see the tourney environment change and I can't say that it has changed for the better. Shaun has taken lead on this years event and is trying to improve upon the past failures. I felt it was important to bring this topic to light. The idea of the table assigned dice bricks has been used in the past. I have heard Chris Courtney talk about it before so I know I am not alone. What you confused me on is why you are opposed to a system where everyone uses the same random number generator. It's done to insure fairness, not to gimp players from bringing their pretty dice to an event. Even though you may still think I am an arrogant prick ( and I would agree with you!) the motivation was to insure fairness, especially to people like you who travel several hours and spend a boatload of money to play in an event. You deserve to play in an environment free from chicanery. Agreed? As for that pint, I might take you up on that. Good luck at the event, who knows maybe they will be playing hockey by then eh? Oh yeah, Skyth you still suck!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D So tell me why are you posting here, last I checked this was a 40K forum, not a forum for "Losers who flop cards and the morons who play with them". If you want I can create that forum for you, maybe Tommy will make you a moderator too!

Is it really that hard to make a post without attacking someone?

Just choose targets that like to be attacked and attack back then...Like Ron That way everyone else can have a civilized discussion.

You must mean targets like you? So princess what is your motivation in posting on a forum that discusses a game that you haven't played since 4th edition? Are you here to educate all the unwashed masses and inject us with those pearls of wisdom that all our lives are lacking, or are you here just to make some inane comment knowing you will provoke an unfavorable response so that then you can skulk away to your dark corner and claim that no one loves you?
Here is an analogy. I don't like men, especially ones that might hit on me, so I avoid ghay bars. You see if you don't like the attention you might receive then avoid the place, Sounds pretty simple to me! Maybe if you don't like being attacked for your comments in a forum that talks about a game that you don't play then maybe, just maybe you should post in places where your wisdom would be appreciated. Let me remind you, fantasy and Bella Sara are both excellent games, especially for you!

Actually, I have a vested interest in the gaming scene. I like having places to play at, and people who do their best to try to tear apart the gaming community are counter to that interest.

You know Hell must have frozen over again because I agree with you. I also have a vested interest in seeing all three gaming stores succeed as well. Travis and Rob, Boldo, and Jeff are good guys and I am happy to support each of their businesses when I can. Now what I disagree with is when you invades a thread involving a game that you never play just to stir the pot then play the victim card when you're attacked. I will not say that I am above shaking things up from time to time because we all know I do that. The difference is when I stir up a beehive I don't sit back and blame the bees when I get stung.

Yes, because using logic and being rational is 'stirring up a beehive'.
Your comment just reminds me of the rapist blaming the victim for wearing revealing clothes...

Really? Seriously, did you just write that? You got all of that out of a simple topic started to discuss cheating with dice? Using an analogy like that disgusts even me, you should be proud of yourself! So why are you haunting us here, aren't there any other forums that involve cards and the prepubescent teens that play those games that you can infect? You keep tap dancing on the minefield and I swear to you I will borrow some cards from someone and show up at your next event just to ruin another gaming avenue for you. Ask anyone, they will tell you I am bitter and petty enough to do just that. I will even bring Ron with me too!

You should disgust yourself.
Funny...All I do is try to explain things a different way and get attacked. You mention nothing about the argument I made, but rather just go into full attack mode. Says something about your character. No wonder you're divorced.

i honestly thought professor was crazy at first when he was talking about casino dice rolling better but after looking up some articles and thinking about it, it makes sense. i might think its a little over the top but to each his own.
I noticed my most recent chessex cube I got from Millennium (they are like orange/green) does tend to roll high, I guess I got one of the lucky(except for leadership/psyker/etc...) from chessex. I also noticed one of my older chessex sets, one of the slightly larger dice that come with 16? to a cube and are ice blue with a frosted glass finish roll HORRIBLY LOW I've had them for a while and mostly use them for wound counters on my nids but I could be a millionaire if I got a $1 for every 1 or 2 they roll
either way I dont think its THAT detrimental to any army to use standardized dice

Ok,
So we looked into ordering Dice and we wouldn't be able to get them in on time. After following the conversation (as friendly as it has been) I don't know if requiring dice is the right thing. I probably follow what may be a mojority that don't have an issue but I can relate to the other side of the argument.
What I think we may be doing is requiring players allow their opponent the use of any of their dice at any time. We may also be listing a caveat that the judges will sporadically go around and "test" an individuals dice. We will also ask that any suspicions be brought to the judges attention. Anyone who is caught with "loaded dice" will be expunged from the tournament and all previous opponents will receive adjustments to their scores.
We may also by a "dice spinner" which professionaly checks for loaded dice. Can we maybe end this thread now before it ends in anyone having hurt feelings?
