Mind you this was never in contestation. I always knew it was cheesey and never did it otherwise until you 3 goaded me into it that 1 tournament. And as Ive said before will never use it again to be fair to everyone. Exactly!!!! I admit freely that I instigated and goated you to take it, and it was funny. I was using that as example since you realize just how cheesy and unsportmanlike it is to bring that as a "standard" force.

I personally have no problem playing against any army but I understand what you guys are saying about what you concider cheezy. We have all had this discussion before on the other board, and so has everyone else on other boards. So I am trying to figure out what we are doing here when we have all been down this road before. The one thing that I dont agree with is when someone says that making a "cheezy or burly" army list is unsportsmanlike. Two totally different things here and its not fair to say that about someone just based on their army list.
Sportsmanship : Conduct and attitude considered as befitting participants in sports, especially fair play, courtesy, striving spirit, and grace in losing

Quick comment - if sportsmanship = fairplay, then comp is intertwined with sportsmanship, even if they are not exactly the same ... that said, theme rules the fun meter. Bring what fits within your points limit based on a theme ... challenge yourself and have fun. Nine oblits can be beat by the right strategy and tactics as can the mega ordnance guard force.

In short, its a discussion board, we are discussing.
But they are on in the same. If someone makes up a tooled army soley for the purpose of winning without regards to how much fun you are going to have. That is indeed bad sportsmanship. Comp is very much apart of Sportsmanship in a way. And in the past both scores have been hose because either the person had bad comp or of they just didnt like you/your club/ or knew you were in the running for a top prize. But thats another topic.
How ever, how you make and present your army is apart of your sportsmanship.....is it very sportsman like to sit back with your 3 bassys and 142 heavy bolters (guard army) and blast away your opponent? No. Bad comp, Bad sports. Sportsmanship is more than how you acted in the game but How you played your army how you presented it and how you made it. Composition is just what is in it and how well does it connect to a given fluff.
Done this with my word bearers, intersting but not a style i like to use alot.

Just imagine how I feel. Luckily I am old enough that I can look forward to going deaf in the next few years.
