I am sorry that I have let this thread lapse so long without updating it. I am still psyched to have this game but I did not want any plans to interfere with the painting league or the tournament circuit.
As for teams nothing has been decided yet, the only thing that I have asked is that you will field fully painted armies. I am thinking that the weekend of Feb 21-22 would be a good goal to target.
If you are still interested please chime in, thanks!

Yup, I am working on a Banelord of Khorne, I keep posting if anyone has any issues with this in the game, but really no response yet. I hope all the work is not for nothing. But it will look cool once its all painted.

Awesome...though the stats for that really don't glorify it for it's size...yes, the stats are sickening, but I always thought something that size would be better...besides, I thought that was a chaos imperator titan??? Oh well, I'm still looking forward to seeing Brian's Banelord...count me in for at least spectating (cuz Doug knows I won't have enough Chaos painted by then! ) Oh, and if I do go, I would be glad to help out terrain wise and stuff like that...just letting you guys know.

9 AV 14 structure points and 6 void shields is too small for you? wtf? lol

For an Imperator? Yes. But let's not stray too far from topic...I just posted the pic to be a smarta$$...I didn't think that was a banelord...but if that's what he's bringing, then more power to him. Specially if people aren't speaking up...I guess that means it'll be okay! Come on, Speak up Guys! You never hold your tongue in person! Why do it on the boards?!?

banelord is warlord class titan, imperator....i shudder to think about what that titan would look like..

Just throwing this out here and I have waited for other to put forth their opinions before I spoke, but usually the implication of taking something like that would be fine as long as the opposing team has something equaling/totaling its power/effectiveness. Being as it will potentially be allied with me I would be concerned as to the opponents capability to counter this.
So the real question is of (and to) the potential "Marine" players what will (not potentially) you bring to counter this (assuming you have that capability)? Im not looking for a specific list or quantity or in any way trying to figure out what the competition is taking, more of like trying to gage the diffrence between a slaughter and a hard fought game. For example you could respond with "we are taking baneblanes", in which I will ask, Do you have enough? I think it would be safe to assume that if this thing is 2500 points that there should be at least 2500 of super heavys on the other side to even out the firepower. Does anyone disagree this? Or am I completely off base here with us wanting a fair and balanced game?
I ask because we have put forth an effort to make these games fun and not one sided and thus far have done an adequate job of that.

The idea behind building this titan was not to create an un-fair, un-balanced, un-fun game. If thats what people on the other team or even my possible teams mates think, then i can stop sitting in my office huffing plasti-weld fumes all night trying to create something fun that players mentioned would be cool to use in a game.
This titan is posted on the GW website as an official GW Datasheet in the apocalypse section. Its not a Chaos version of the Warlord titan from the apocalypse book, which is actually probably a lot better than this titan. below are the stats for those that have not seen the data sheet. This might help in determining if this should be allowed in a game.
--------------------------------------------------------------- Banelord of Khorne
WS-3, BS-3, S-10, Front-14, Side-14, Rear-13, I-1, A-6 Void shields = 6 (armor Value 12) Structure points = 9
Weapons
Bloodletter Battlehead, Range 30", S 6, AP 3, Heavy 5 Havoc missiles, Range 24-360", S 7, AP 3, Apoc. Barrage 5 Hellstrike Cannon, Range 24-360", S 9, AP 3, 10" blast Ordanace 2 Doomfist, Range 30", S 6, Ap 3, Heavy 10 Chaos Titan Tail, 24", S 10, AP 2, Large blast, Ordanace 1
Special Rules
Possessed
Crazed - Roll a D6, on a 1 the titan fires all its weapons, then a random player fires all the weapons, can hit units on your side.
2-5 play as normal
6 - Titan moves as close as possible to nearest enemy unit, then fleets and assaults if able.
If the titan goes nuclear, its range is a roll of 6D6
Can only assault super heavies in Close combat, unless uses a stomp attack
Psychic attacks towards the titan will cause Perils of the warp to caster. -----------------------------------------------
So there are the stats. With no D strength weapons and only one S10 weapons, it seems more of an anti infantry titan with its multiple shot weapons. Having the same rules as a chaos dreadnought can make for an interesting game if you roll a 1 or a 6. nothing like having the enemy team using your own titan to shoot at you.
Armor 14 and 13 with Armor 12 Shields means even if the marine team cannot field 2500 points of super heavies, a few lascannons should do the trick also.
I have mentioned this before earlier this year, and I am posting this again now, 3 months before the Winter assault so that marine players have plenty of time to plan their units and lists and super heavies knowing that this will be at the game.
If Marine players or even Chaos players have issues with this titan please post them now. That way i can work on my super heavy tanks instead of this titan. Once again the idea is not to create an un-balance, un-fair or un-fun game. I figured People would enjoy a fun big model to play against or with that would really make this a good time.

Let me re-iterate becuase I think you missed my point. Just keep in mind a non response is not a confirmation. I would encourage those people playing (whom ever they may be ?) to respond in particular those on the marine side. Hope that clears it up for you.
