I understand what you were saying Ron, just feel the remarks about this being an attempt to cause an un-fair or un-balanced game were not justified.
I am all for hearing the marine players views. Thats the whole reason i posted asking for their opinions. If I wanted to cause a one sided, un-fair game, I would have just waited and showed up at the game with a huge titan and no notice to the opponents.

Those were questions to anyone in general, I was asking if perhaps I was off base with what we wanted to acomplish by these games and since sometimes opinions differ I asked these questions to see if there was a diffrence in opinion.
I wasnt directing any particular comment to or at you or your titan, nor did I claim this was an attempt on your part to cause an un-fair or un-balance game in what you quoted, however if the opponents you are playing against have nothing comparable, as I expressed before, this could possibly turn quite one sided.
Lets not turn this into something negative by going back and forth with symantics. What needs to happen is Teams need to be set and imo they either need to speak up or you should contact them.
There is what you asked for and my opinion, like it or not. Enjoy your holidays and good luck with your Titan.

We will have to wait and see if any marine players feel this will cause a balance issue. Judging by your responses you do not want this titan in the game?
Maybe more players will have a chance to view the post after the holidays and give their thoughts.

If the people your playing agianst have no problem with it then neither do I. I dont know how much more clearer I can be about this. Im for balance and fun over all. Im not the one putting a spin on this. I knew posting in response to anything you put up asking for an opinion was a bad idea as it is almost always results in something akin to this, with accusations and negativity. Just throwing this on the table...perhaps thats why there have been little to no responses? hmmm.
So just to make sure we are on the same page and clear, again, for clarities sake, if the marine players (your opponents) are ok with it, then Im ok with it, I would be in agreement, I would comply and I would accept the descion. No spin, no twist, no negativity, no hard feelings.

Ron, your first post did sound very cynical, pessimistic, and quite offending, to be honest. But, we should all know by now (specially you guys that have been with Daboyz for longer then I have), THAT'S HOW RON IS. Nothing is going to change him, so just deal.
Yes, Ron, I know what you were going for, but sometimes, it just doesn't come out that way. Oh well, most of us here should be men by now, and should know how to deal.
Now, as for the topic at hand. You know what? I think you (Brian) should bring the god-demn Titan if you want to. You know why? You attempted to make contact, and none ensued. To HeLL with fair, ALLS FAIR IN LOVE AND WAR PEOPLE! Besides, I'm sure you're putting in a $hitload of work into it and I'm sure it'll be fun; yes, it's big and scary, but oh well! It's a game, guys! When I played in that Apocalypse game with Soleman as my partner against both Lillies, I used Armoured company with two Baneblades, and you know what? MY ENTIRE ARMY WAS BLOWN OFF THE TABLE! But, I was okay with that, and to today, that is still the most fun I've ever had playing Warhammer.
So you know what? Stick all your sentiments up your a$$es, speak up, and play the god-demn game! All of us got into this to have fun, so do it!
You know what? Brian, I'll match you. Sign me up for marines. I'll find someone to get stuff from. I'll meet your titan with a marine force (and hopefully at least two baneblades...).
Just in case there's any confusion: I'LL PLAY ON THE MARINE SIDE, AND MATCH BRIAN'S TITAN.
BRING IT ON, I'LL BEAT IT DOWN! MWAHAHAHAHA!

To you, maybe not, but obviously to others it may have... Anyways, this thread isn't about who says what and how it sounds, leave that to counseling... I said I would play on the imperial side, and that I would try to match the titan. Discussion about titan over. Brian, if you don't bring that thing, I'm going to be very disappointed, cuz then I won't have anything huge to blow up! Now, all we need to do is solidify sides and date. Did we come up with anything official? |

As someone who could be playing on either side i have to agree that the titans are all very special tactical challenges. The two in the tyranid game were next to impossible to deal with. If i play imperial i think that we could deal with it. the laz cannon land raiders or a number of predator annihilator assassin formations or a large Titan hammer terminator wing, or large air force... Or gosh we still have time to build some of our own titans. If i am on the chaos side than try to beat it you imperial weaklings! |

APOCALYPSE, AFTER READING THROUGH THIS THREAD HISTORY,
I HAVE LESS INTEREST NOW THAN BEFORE.

well if thigns go as planned i will be hunting down the fallen at winter assualt. and if that pesky wanna be thing of a titan gets in my way i will have to make it into a pile of burning rubble ;D . just cuz it practically stands the size of the table doesnt mean the dark angels are afriad of it. just means that when we take it out, the fallen better flee along with all the pesky pets you can summon. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Either way, there are plenty of Chaos players out there. But in the next few weeks hopefully there will be something more solid, after the holidays.

Honestly, I don't know how destructive this thing can be, so I cannot say one way or another. Yes I've read the stats and yes I understand the rules behind this thing. However a lot of it's guns will allow cover saves, Void shields are AV12 if I remember the rules on it right, and this thing can be chain reactioned with some ungodly lucky rolls. I don't stand opposed to it, but if this thing ends up massacring someone's 2500 point force a turn, then the imperial side is going to need something to seriously equalize this. Baneblades, warhound titans, or hell even some fliers to make things fun. If anyone has experience dealing with titans maybe they can speak out better than I can. For now I can't see a good reason to prevent someone from bringing something they spent a lot of time to make for this event. Personally I've got about 50 terminators that say this thing is scrap metal before the dinner bell rings.

ive played a game against a few titans. they can dish out some damage, but they also can go down fast. a basic titan depending on its gun can take out about two squads a turn. they can crush things in close combat but all you have to do is hit them with a few las cannons or massacure them with some multi meltas. never played against the banelord of khorne but it will die just as easy as a baneblade when hit by a dozen melta guns. so all the marine players have to do is come up with a plan on who is gonna take out what. ie. tanks, infintry, titans,and daemons.
