Couple of points 1. LOL... LOL... thingy-stomping your friends to show power gamers you can beat them by being a power gamer = priceless, well played sir. Wait... if you were trying to impress anyone then the only person you left an impression on is Terry. Sad. Are you serious? You think I chose to play the people I play every week? No. I was actually quite pissed that I had to play them. Not that I don't enjoy them, just I play k-dawg every single week. Plus then I had to play Ron and my father, again, people I play every week. So basically I paid money to play the same people I play every week. All I'm hearing is people pissed I won. Lol. You guys can be as pissed as you want. It's all the awful armies i've had to play in the past within your group that prompted me to do that. In regards to you guys shunning out new players, i've seen that quite a lot. I met a kid named Scott on Saturday, showed him some stuff, offered him some practice games with one of my armies, stuff like that. It's funny though that everyone else gave him the cold shoulder. I noticed him asking some of you a few questions, and you guys just ignoring him, giving him short and sh!tty answers. I also have a buddy who used to go tuesdays, and says everytime he goes, nobody will play a game with him. He mentioned that he would ask for a game, and people would be like no im just watching, or no i gotta paint, but would themselves be in a game within 20 mins. One for thing, in regards to the lack of clapping, it doesnt bother me at all, but it is purely disrespectful. It doesnt matter how much or how little you like me or my army. It doesnt matter how much or little you agree with the fact that I won in the first place. There are times I have not agreed with the decision, yet I still gave my applause. I didn't agree with the paining award, but I still gave my applause. (Aaron, your army is beautiful, but there were a few that I personally liked a little more. Just a personal opinion.)

I am more annoyed that you got to play your father and I did not have a chance to rip apart that army, not that you won. It's all the awful armies i've had to play in the past within your group that prompted me to do that. Vague - name the armies? I also saw someone egg my car once, I showed them by cutting all their brake lines - they drove me to it with their silly eggs - it is not my fault. Edit: naturally I did not know who owned what car, so I had to cut all the brake lines, the concept of collateral damage is foreign to me.

Im not complaining you won, i figured at pre-tourney setup that would be the outcome. I only quoted you and asked you to back up your claim of the "reason" (granted you don't need a reason but since you provided one it's subject to scrutiny) you took the list you did was because of all these crazy ard boyz lists running around. I've been attending MG tournies for a good 2-3 years now and i have never once lined up against an army i consider a face raping army nor seen any setup that came across as such.

The leaf blowers ive had to play against, the flyer spam lists ive had to play against, the tyranids with the millions of psychic powers. It's 11 and im tired so dad, ron, what am I forgetting? It's gotten worse with the ally system
Edit: I am fully aware that this is THE most over the top army out there, and nothing will match up to it in cheesiness. That being said, you all know that there are many over the top power gaming armies that are played at MG every single week. Who knows, maybe you guys don't even recognize it as power gaming anymore.

Well said Brian.
So here is a question for all you internet know-it-all especially you Professor, what did he do that was illegal or against the tournament rules? What did he do that any of you couldn't do? I have listened for years now to your theories on list building and tailoring your armies to the comp and meta being played. Brian played within the rules. He shared copies of his list. He rolled standard dice, use a legal tape measure, so what did he do wrong? Nothing, absolutely nothing. I listen to every one here discuss the latest and greatest thing that appears on the internet. You all support the national tournament circuit, and have allowed garbage lists to take over local events. If there is a hypocrite among us, look in your mirror to find him. Here is a very simple question, how is Brian playing that Daemon list any different than anyone else who is currently playing it in a national tournament or at Adepticon??? IT"S NOT!
For the record, I did express my rage against Cron Air and its game breaking rules exploits in the past. You are 100% correct on that. Now we are in the present and everyone here has now talked me out of that view and shown me the light. From here on out, I guess "if it's legal then I will play it." After all don't blame me or my son, blame GW for their rules. And blame yourselves too, after all you should have brought better lists!

I am more annoyed that you got to play your father and I did not have a chance to rip apart that army, not that you won. You play your father and Ron because your teams had the top f'ing battle points. So you were suppose to play each other, what you want the TO to change the rankings? Want me to cheat the others so you don't play each other? This is complete garbage. Do you think I did that on purpose? Do you think I did it out of spite? WTF over.

I would have liked to play someone other than terry and Kevin first round again just due to the fact that I play Kevin week in and week out. It was random and I get it. It's not your fault. As my father said, it was a great tournament. Some people are just sour over the outcome.

No offense I will no longer jump all over anyone on this forum it's just silly the back and forth..guess I'm just addicted to starting fires..or reigniting them

After being told mupilute times by your father that our tournamnets are swinging to far to WAAC side of the hobby, you then bring a Howitzer to a Knife fight? You don't see how this a issue?

Let's just stop all pretenses that this is about a game and the gaming community as a whole but rather this whole mess is about the pride and ego of two people.
Facts are facts... Doug, you've had an issue with the way things have gone for years. Fact. and it's not just against our local community as all one has to do is read your responses to goatboy and anyone else you have disagreed with on BoLS to see that you carry on the same way there as you do here. So people don't play doug-hammer any more and that just rubs you the wrong way. Time to move on.
Brian, again let's just drop any pretenses of why you took said list other than to get the local scene riled up. Fact. Your words...
So here you admit you took a list to prove a point. That point was to expressly invoke a negative response. To call it anything else is a sham.
So again, why show up with this list other to elicit a negative response? The irony in all of this is that it partially backfired and you ended up taking a dump on one of your friends.
SO again, let's stop dragging this process out and smearing the name of the local store owner and his livelihood. It's blatantly obvious that nothing has changed or ever will so let it die. As I said yesterday, maybe it's time that the local 40k tournament scene die out, as it did for Fantasy, and let each of our own groups play the way they want without ever having to interact with each other again. I'm sure it would be less of a headache for everyone involved.

The leaf blowers ive had to play against, the flyer spam lists ive had to play against, the tyranids with the millions of psychic powers. It's 11 and im tired so dad, ron, what am I forgetting? It's gotten worse with the ally system I'll gladly call BS on that. In the 36 "2nd saturday" events I've personally attended over the past 4 years not a single local has brought out a leafblower. Also since 6th hit the shelf, I've not seen a single local use more than 2 flyers so I'm not seeing flyer spam. If those are things you see at Boldos on Sundays then you've done it to yourselves. The list was legal per the rulebook, codex, and tournament format. The issue everyone has is that "your crew" has been the most vocal and antagonistic about the choices others make when building a list/collection. Even to the point of slandering the "2nd saturday" events and attendees despite lack of factual evidence as vocalized by myself, Paul, Kevin, Chris, and whoever else. When this thread started, many of us even hoped and prayed that "your group" would attend the alternate event and spare us this drama. Despite all of that, y'all came out and spoiled an event that was going to be a blast. Terry vocalized his opinions publicly, some did privately, some just refused to appluad your auto-win. Like Chris said, we all knew the tournament results before the first pairings were even made. The list was legal, but it crossed a line that myself and others haven't seen crossed locally. There's been no flyer spam, no leafblowers, no dual seer council, dual nob bikers, or anything else you see on BoLS, YTTH, or wherever. The brinksmanship and cold war-eqsue escalation has been very one sided. Like many other have said, 12 of the 13 teams were very reasonable. The offending list was produced by the crew most verbally opposed to power listing. And now we have a rift and ripples that will change our community forever. Some people will decide to stay home and paint over playing, some will escalate their own armies to match the black sheep of last week. Some will fling mud, flamebait, and continue to shout the sky is red despite the actual truth. For me, this forum and "club" has finally passed the point of any usefulness or benefit. I will continue to attend events because the act of painting the models and playing the game remains enjoyable whether I must use 60 zombies or 210, 0 heldrakes or 3, it matters not to me. I thank Travis and Smitty for their events and support of the hobby and community. Special thanks to Jay, Shaun, and Smitty for making me feel welcome and showing great respect. Aaron out~

Know what, I've said what I've needed to say. I have played against these armies at MG. One of the last ones I went to I played two leaf blowers out of the three games. I decided to go to this one with the mindset if you can't beat em, join em, though i do agree it was a tad over the top. I have no idea how you guys can sit there and power game and then when I do once it's blasphemy. You guys do realize my army was one of the three terry played that day. I doubt the first game was the only thing that ruined it for him. I won't sit here and continue arguing because its stupid and pointless. What's done is done. I've said what I've needed to say. The only reason I haven't smashed those models is because I've always said I wanted to do tzeentch daemons, so I plan on working on putting together a full fledged tzeentch army. With a few exceptions, you guys have always pushed me out. Maybe if you guys would welcome different people and opinions to your inner circle you'd understand a little more. Doesn't bother me much tho. But like I said. I'm done arguing because it pointless. What's done is done. If I ever show up to another tournement, you'll see my everyday army, and for playing that, I'll probably play against the invisible leaf blower army. For the record as well, I have never played a full force cron air, lets just say it was more than enough to ruin my day. I think it was 3 doom with 1 night scythe. Put it this way, when the finances were in check, it was gonna be full.

Did Aaron just take his ball and go home?
Goodbye! Still waiting for you to pay up and run that tournament that you agreed to run. Glad to see how honorable you are. A true Titan among men.
Again not a single one here can tell me what Brian did was wrong. He played a LEGAL list in a LEGAL tournament. If you think that list crossed some invisible line remember it was used in a tournament that was run to prepare local players for Adepticon, and if you think that list will not be there you all our a bunch of babbling fools.
So you never saw a leaf blower? Zack never ran one, neither did Rob??? Hmmm I think he owned three hydras back when they were good, but of course you never saw it? You never saw the Thunderwolf lists either complete with three squads of long fangs and miniaturized Thunderwolves that hid behind tanks before official models were released? And of course you never saw broken ally combos either? I distinctly remember Wraiths and a Doom Scythe added to a certain list because " I just love the new models." And then you ripped Zack just yesterday for taking three special characters in a guard list when you had the nerve to run Maugan Ra, the Baron and Lady Malise in the same list as well. So who is the freaking hypocrite now?
Again I have preached comp and where did it get me? I am just playing your game and playing by the rules that you have established. Like I stated several posts before, my past thinking is gone and fully support your idea that if its legal its good to play. After all last years DaBoyz event was no comp and everyone here seems to use that as the golden standard.
You know what I enjoyed the last event even though I didn't win. I have enjoyed most of the events run at MG but I also have been vocal about the way they have been run. My opinion is that they should be run fairly, with clearly defined rules, scoring, etc. Anytime I ask for clarification this sort of garbage occurs. You know what, if you want to be one of the "Big Boyz" in the tournament scene and run an event with zero comp, they how dare any of you smack a local guy who brings the same type of nastiness that is played in those events?
You know Kevin I don't get you. Did we have a good game saturday? Was I polite? Was I fair? Didn't I even side with you when we had a rules question even after your team mate admitted openly, "Well that is not how it think it should be played but it's not against the rules."? You know Kevin let me remind you of a conversation that we had as to why your son stopped playing 40K. I remember you telling me that Conner didn't enjoy the over the top lists that routinely stomped him so he moved on. It made me sad because you have a great kid and I enjoyed playing both you and him. But the decision to leave the game was your son's and I respected that. Now the decision to play the list that Brian played was also his and I respect that. He told you and everyone else he was tired of getting his butt stomped and rather that play League of Legends with Conner he chose to escalate his game and continue to play 40k. Both are valid choices and there is absolutely nothing wrong with either. So please explain to me why in your mind my son's choice was any different than Conner's? Explain to me how you and everyone here supports no comp in certain tournaments but then changes the rules and draws some sort of invisible line when it comes to this last event that shouldn't have been crossed locally but it A OK for everyone else in this country to do, especially the players from out of town that play here every year at the local "GT"? And to clarify why Brian took that list, he took it to win, the exact same reason that any other team player took his list for, to win.
You know what, after saturday this whole topic could have been done and buried. The only questions I asked involved painting criteria and the rules for next months event. By then this nasty Daemon's list will fade away into the past due to the release of the new codex. It's a done deal. What amazed me is all the nerd rage that has been directed at him because he out cheesed all the "fair and balanced" crowd here on won ONE event. Rather than just moving on I got to read posting that talked about egging someone's car and cutting break line over a freaking game. Now people have rage quit the boards because we cannot agree on how to play toy soldiers? That is just sad, seriously...
Like I have posted countless times. I am thankful for MG. I like the staff. I am glad that we have local events to play in, even if I don't think they are perfect all the time. I am also glad that we have places like Boldo's and Pair-A-Dice as well. Jeff and Alex are great members of the retail gaming community, just like Rob and Travis are. I will continue to play in some events when I am so inspired and when time and work allows. I enjoy them. You don't have to agree with my opinion, I never said you did, but respect me for having one and I will respect you for having yours.
