Courtney also complained about running out of time in game 3 of the last mg tourney which cost him the win.
Was just trying to help ensure all participants leave happy and are interested in coming again.
I'll just keep my suggestions to myself since not many are interested.

Haha, you don't need to keep your suggestions to yourself man, just be ok with people counter arguing suggestions that's all. That's how things like this tourny get hammered out! Don't think because people are shooting down your suggestions that they are not being taken into consideration, it's all part of the process thats all.
Also, Courtny complained about time running out last tourny because we didn't get a full time allotment. I specifically remember playing a game and being told one hour to go when we had only been playing for 40 minutes.

So 350 views as of this writing. I guess people are a bit excited about this event. I apologize for not responding to some of the questions sooner. I posted this event and promptly hopped on a plane to go to my distributors open house and just flew back from there last night. So as a couple of guys mentioned, we are hammering out final details on this event this Tuesday.
This event is set-up to have fun. It's not supposed to be a serious event. I realize the price for entry makes it look that way. I can't charge you guys less then what I am charging the computer gamers. So instead I am kicking it all back in prize support.
Next Thursday I will have final info on this event. Let me say that again. Next Thursday I will have final rules on this event. That means after next Thursday, we will have no further discussion on changing anything. So if you want to make a case for something to be changed, please be at Millennium Tuesday. I will be here all day and night. I am not going to go line by line as to why each choice is made. This tournament is for fun.
This tournament is also for men. Men don't whine. They don't cry. They don't complain. They just do. If you don't like something about this event, don't play. I want to foster a fun environment. If your only purpose for playing this game is to win, please don't play in this event. If you want to get together with a good group of player's have some laughs, possibly take something cool home that you didn't have, then play in this event.
Painting is not required- This is so people can play new stuff and so new player's can play.
There will be painting contests. I am not going to list what the categories are. So feel free to be a man and have everything painted. As a preview, the person with the least amount of paint will win a prize...it will not be for men however.
Your models must be wysiwyg to the best of your ability. I am most concerned that your opponent be able to tell what your model is. I don't expect everyone to have the forge world extra armor on their vehicles. If you do, well then your either a man or a super miniature geek, either way your probably the right person for this event.
Time Limits on rounds - We are going to test these out a bit and have answers soon.
Comp - Is not required. Our limit of increase per round should be enough to stop most cheese. However, the person with the nastiest list, as voted by the player's, will be beaten by the player's. You may have won the tourney, but you will lose the war. If your trying to maximize your slots for each increment of this event to make a hard list, don't play. Like Macguyver, men can use whatever they have at there disposal to win the day.
Uneven team rounds - We are just gonna deal with it. We may have to go 3v3 on a table. I may have a table that's 2 v 3 with the team with 2 being able to play with their next increase a round early. No matter what, everyone will have similar points in each round.
Carrying points over - I am very hesitant to let this happen. I realize there are +/- to each side. Maybe we will go with a rule where you can only carryover 25 points from one increment to the next and only for one increase. I am going to pick on Aaron here because I like him more then most of you guys. Not being familiar with Tyrannids, I opened up their codex. Looking in Heavy Support, to my surprise there are three separate slots. I thought they only had Trygon's based on what I always see fielded. None of the choices are over 250 points. I realize you would have to field a vanilla Tyrranofex for that cost. Everything else you could add features. You could even take, the unicorn of all heavy support choices, the Mawloc. I say unicorn because I see them fielded as often as I see unicorns. So everyone needs to be a bit flexible and possibly use some stuff you don't normally. Take the T-Fex one round, then add guns the next round. I don't think adding wargear is a problem again that will be cleared up on Thursday.
So stay tuned. Feel free to contact me with concerns through pm.

A few updates before this thing goes final. I will be posting changes in the main body of my first post to reflect amendments that I write here as well.
You are going to need to follow normal force org. That means you need to start with an HQ.
You can have one additional HQ starting when the points are increased to 1000 points. You can never have more then two HQ's. This is regardless of what your codex says you can have.
You can go light up to 25 points for a round and add that to the next rounds increase. You cannot carry over two rounds worth of deficiencies. So that means the most you can bring to the table in any increase is 275 points.
Changing existing units - You can add numbers to your units as points increase as your army permits. You can also add wargear to units that you brought on the board without it from increase to increase. You can't change or subtract any wargear. If you start with you it, you stick with it.
No more then two of the same type of core troop choice regardless of there wargear.
No more then two of any type of vehicle.

In case you didn't realize it, the only legal HQ for a Tyranid force is an Alpha Warrior under those restrictions.

What??? Tyranids still have an HQ choice to use just like everybody else??
How is that right? What will they complain about since they will still be able to make an army out of their codex in that first and every other round?
Lets have a more serious complaint. Codex space marines under these draconian restrictions can only take Tactical squads and scout squads as troops!

My point was that they only have a single HQ choice that is legal, and I know it's one that I don't have a model for. If I was playing and wanted to bring my 'nids, I wouldn't be able to *shrugs*. I was thinking other players might be in the same boat.

Lots of anti-'nid regulations for the first round. All of our MC's are off limits while codex marines could go MoTF + Ironclad + Ironclad + Tac.
Just gotta hope for a good pairing first round.

Man, that's some good nerd rage. Skyth's observation is a valid one, not every Tyranid army needs or wants a Prime.
I want to bring a Sanguinary Guard-themed army with Dante and he's got 4 wounds. Makes me sad panda. Dante isn't exactly a game breaker with his dinky power weapon, is he?
Not all armies have lots of Troops (Necrons, Tau, DE, DA, BTs) or want to fit their theme (Loganwing, Deathwing, Ravenwing/Bikers, etc). Who's afraid of Troops anyway?
