****Final Force Restriction Update September 2*****
****Updated September 1 ****
****Updated again August 30th*****
****Updated August 28th****
You read that correctly. We are holding our first Lock-in 40k event to coincide with Cyberstorm's lock-in. The event will be a bit old school in that it will be 7 rounds. Participants will be fed during the event by us.
Date: September 18th
Time: Registration starts at 6:00pm 1st round 6:30pm
Entry: $24.00 All money put in minus food costs will be put in the prize pool. This event will pay out deep in the standings.
Format: 7 rounds escalation style.
Armies start with 500 points and will continue to add points at each round increase.
Here are changes that will be in place the whole event.
No special characters.
No more then two of the same troop choice. Each unit needs to have different wargear.
Only one of any type of vehicle. You can of course have a Rhino and a Razorback.
Player's will be allowed to go light up to 25 points from one round to the next. The following round they will be able to increase there army by 275 points.
You can increase your existing unit sizes as the points limit increases.
You can also add wargear to existing units.
You can't subtract anything from your force.
All units, other then dedicated transports, are considered scoring units. Yes even independent characters.
Round 1 - 45 minutes, 500 points, Table size is going to be half normal size. Standard force organization needs to be followed. You can't have a second HQ until 1000 points.
These restrictions are for the first round only: No vehicles with higher armor then 13. Nothing with more then 3 wounds. Nothing with toughness 6 or greater.
Army Comp - Must have 1 troop choice. Can have at most 1 elite, 1 fast attack, 1 heavy support
Round 2- 500 points, 45 minutes, Full table size, Team round.
Teams will be randomly paired together
Use the same army from the first round. No modifications to lists are permitted.
Team rules- Your army's special rules don't help your partner at all. In the event that we don't have numbers divisible by 4, we will have one table play 3 v 2. The team with two, will be able to play with the army they would bring for the next round, to make up the points difference. Puppeteering player's will be frowned on. You can talk with your partner about strategy during the game. You should not be controlling your partner's army.
Round 3- 750 points, 1 hour
Army Comp - Your adding 250 points to your existing army. Max 2 elite, max 2 fast attack, max 2 heavy
Round 4- 750 points, 1 hour, Team Round
Teams will be put together this round based on standings. First place will be teamed with last place and so on. Tables will be set-up based on standing as well. With the first place player's team playing the second place player's team and so on.
Round 5 - 1000 points 1 hour 15 minutes
You can have a second HQ from this point forward but must still follow all other restrictions.
Round 6 - 1250 points 1 hour 15 minutes
Round 7 - 1500 points 1 hour 30 minutes.
Based on these time limits we should be done at 2am. When time is up in a round, it's over. Prizes handed out by 2:30. I will need everyone to help with clean up.
Army Lists - Have a list of your base 500 point army then a list showing what you will be adding each round.
Painting is not required. If your army has the least amount of paint on it, you will be assigned a dress to wear for the whole event. I only have one size and it's not big.
There will be painting contests. I am not going to list the categories. It's a surprise.
Additional Rules - No whining, crying, pouting or carrying on like a jerk. You will be asked to leave. No leaving before the event ends regardless of how your doing in the event. It's funny how often the players in last or second to last place always have headaches, back aches or cramping just as we are pairing the 3rd round. I don't have to name any names, you know who you are.
Pre-register and you pay $20 instead of the $24. Pre-registration is closed Sunday, September 12th at 8pm. I want to be able to grab some cool prizes.
I will be changing and adding on to this post as I have more information on the event. It's going to be a fun event with a ton of prize support. Let the games begin.
